Company Description HOPE (Helping Our Planet Earth) develops wellness ecosystems that foster lifelong mental resilience in young people. The organization believes every young person should have access to practical mental health tools, supportive communities, and meaningful opportunities to lead. Through structured programs, HOPE guides youth from mental health literacy to peer leadership and social innovation. Participants gain knowledge, skills, and networks that help them strengthen wellbeing for themselves, their communities, and future generations. HOPE focuses on scalable, community-centered solutions that empower young leaders to create lasting impact.

Role Description The Board Member role at HOPE is a volunteer, remote position focused on strategic oversight and mission stewardship starting in 2027. On a quarterly basis, Board Members engage in governance activities such as reviewing organizational performance, providing input on program strategy, and ensuring alignment with HOPE’s vision for youth mental resilience. They participate in board and committee meetings, prepare for discussions by reviewing materials in advance, and contribute to policy development and risk management. Board Members also support resource development by leveraging networks for partnerships, fundraising, and community outreach, and may serve as ambassadors for HOPE at events or stakeholder meetings. This role is suited for individuals who can commit consistent time to board responsibilities, collaborate effectively in a remote environment, and support a culture of accountability and inclusion.

  • Ability to work effectively in a remote setting, including familiarity with online collaboration tools and virtual meeting platforms.
  • Integrity, sound judgment, and a values-driven approach, with willingness to commit the time needed for regular meetings and committee work.
  • Prior board experience is beneficial but not required; lived experience related to youth mental health or community leadership is highly valued.
