Role Description The Board Member – Volunteer role is a remote position focused on strategic governance and oversight. In this role, the board member participates in regular board meetings, reviews performance reports, and provides guidance on long-term vision, risk management, and resource allocation. As a remote board member, the individual engages via online collaboration tools, maintaining effective communication with fellow board members, management, and key partners.
Qualifications
- Governance and leadership skills, including experience with board responsibilities, strategic planning, and organizational oversight.
- Financial and accounting literacy, ideally with familiarity in education or not-for-profit sectors, and the ability to interpret budgets and financial reports.
- Background in education, public sector, or school governance is beneficial but not required.
- Prior board or advisory experience, or demonstrated senior-level responsibility, is an advantage.
