We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper who takes pride in the business impact of accurate numbers.

Key Responsibilities

• Ledger & Account Management: Maintain and update daily bookkeeping records in Zoho Books according to GAAP standards.
  
• Invoicing & Payments: Process vendor invoices, handle vendor registrations, generate customer invoices, and manage accounts payable/receivable.
  
• Bank & Account Reconciliation: Conduct routine bank reconciliations and ensure record completeness within the accounting system.
  
• Payroll & Expenses: Process employee salaries, commissions, and other costs accurately and in a timely manner.
  
• Tax Compliance & Reporting: Prepare and file HST returns; compile monthly and periodic financial reports ensuring compliance with legal standards and internal policies.
  
• Ad-Hoc Accounting: Document financial records and handle additional accounting duties as they arise.
  

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience).
  
• Experience: 2–3 years of proven accounting and bookkeeping experience (food/beverage, retail, or tech industry experience preferred).
  
• Software: Proficiency in Zoho Books (or a strong willingness to master it outside business hours) and thorough knowledge of general ledger accounting.
  
• Technical Setup: Up-to-date computer setup with a second monitor and high-speed internet.
  
• Skills & Competencies: Intermediate-to-advanced spreadsheet skills (Excel/Sheets), excellent typing speed, strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, high attention to detail, and effective interpersonal communication.
