Are you passionate about helping managers navigate challenging people situations and achieve positive outcomes for their teams?

Our HR Case Management Service works closely with Metropolitan Police leaders, providing expert support and practical guidance across a range of employee relations matters. We're looking for HR Case Managers to join our specialist Performance and Attendance team in London.

In this role, you'll partner with managers to address complex attendance and performance cases, providing clear advice and practical coaching that enables informed and fair decision-making. You'll build strong working relationships across the organisation, helping managers develop their confidence and capability while ensuring people matters are managed consistently and effectively.

This is a permanent opportunity with flexibility to work in a way that supports both you and the business. If you're based in London, you'll have the flexibility to work from home when you do not need to be in the office, with regular travel to client sites across London. If you're based in Newcastle, you'll be expected to work from the Newcastle office two days per week, with occasional additional office attendance for meetings, training or business needs.

What you'll be doing:

  • Managing a personal portfolio of complex HR cases, prioritising activities to meet deadlines and service levels.
  • Providing expert advice in line with organisational policies, Police Regulations, employment legislation and HR best practice.
  • Supporting managers at all levels with performance and attendance matters, helping them achieve effective, business-focused outcomes.
  • Identifying potential risks and challenges early, promoting proactive intervention and resolution.
  • Delivering a high-touch service through face-to-face meetings, Microsoft Teams, telephone and email.
  • Maintaining accurate case records while collaborating with colleagues and stakeholders to deliver a professional, compliant service.

What you’ll bring:

  • HR experience advising line managers on a range of people-related matters.
  • Strong knowledge of HR policies, employment legislation and best practice.
  • Credibility as a trusted HR advisor with the ability to build effective working relationships quickly.
  • Experience supporting managers through complex HR cases and achieving positive outcomes.
  • A coaching and mentoring approach that develops manager capability and confidence.
  • The ability to balance organisational objectives with employee needs when providing advice and guidance.

It would be great if you had:

  • A CIPD qualification.
  • Experience of supporting managers through transformational change.

If you’re interested in this role but not sure if your skills and experience are exactly what we’re looking for, please do apply, we’d love to hear from you!

Although this role is advertised as full-time, we believe that flexibility at work can promote work/life balance, increase your motivation, reduce stress and improves performance and productivity. We support different ways of working and can offer a range of flexible working arrangements. So, if you’re interested and need to work flexibly, we encourage you to apply and talk to us about what might be possible.

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent.
Location: London or Newcastle (hybrid working available).
Security Clearance Level: NPPV2.
Internal Recruiter: Becky.
Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum for London-based candidates, or up to £35,000 per annum for Newcastle-based candidates.
Benefits: 25 days annual leave with the choice to buy additional days, health cash plan, life assurance, and pension.
