Branch Head of AML

We are the first-line team keeping AML/CTF at the heart of everything we do. Working closely with Compliance, Risk, Legal, Operations and Front Office, we put the AML/CTF policies, procedures and controls into practice. We collaborate across borders with group functions, auditors and regulators to keep our controls strong and our operations secure. Together, we take ownership of how our controls work in practice and continuously look for ways to improve – always with a pragmatic, risk-based mindset guiding our work.

About the role

As Branch Head of AML, you are accountable for the effective day-to-day execution of AML/CTF requirements in the first line. You lead our AML specialist team and an AML Team Manager, and ensure regulatory change turns into practical action. You act as the bridge between local operations and group standards.

• Ensure day-to-day execution of AML/CTF policies, procedures and controls.

• Lead the AML specialist team and AML Team Manager, fostering competence development and engagement

• Lead first-line execution of KYC, enhanced due diligence and ongoing monitoring.

• Run day-to-day transaction monitoring and alert handling, and escalate suspicious activity in line with established procedures

• Translate policies and procedures into workable processes and workflows

• Ensure correct performance and documentation of first-line controls, and follow up on deviations and remediation actions

• Coordinate internal and external audits and remediation activities

• Provide pragmatic AML guidance to business stakeholders

Who we're looking for

We're looking for a structured, result-oriented leader with a risk-based mindset who thrives in a leadership capacity. You're a strong communicator and collaborator, comfortable engaging stakeholders across Compliance, Risk, Legal and the business. You're a practical problem-solver who turns regulatory requirements into efficient, usable processes, and you're adaptive enough to drive consistency across a multi-jurisdictional environment. Besides this, we hope that you have:

• A relevant degree in Finance, Law, Economics or a related field

• 5-8 years of hands-on experience in AML/CTF within banking or financial services, including KYC and transaction monitoring

• Proven experience implementing and maintaining AML frameworks, policies and procedures, and running first-line controls

• Good understanding of AML regulation in a Nordic/EU context, including the new AML package (AMLR)

• 5+ years of leadership experience

• Fluency in Norwegian or Swedish, and English

• Form of employment: Permanent with 6 months probation

• Working hours: Core time 9-15
