We're looking for a skilled Carpenter / Joiner to join our Operations team as a field-based Builder, working in our customers’ homes across Peterborough area / (East of England region). Working from technical surveys, you'll create the ceiling and floor apertures our homelifts travel through. It's accurate first-fix carpentry, and it has a real impact on people's lives. As a skilled carpenter / joiner here’s where you come in, once you’ve completed your induction / training programme: You'll be Forming ceiling and floor apertures to the exact dimensions working from technical surveys, keeping the structure sound and getting it right first time Adapting your approach to suit each home, as no two surveys are the same Working closely with site supervisors and our installation teams to keep projects on schedule Completing Building Control and electrical paperwork accurately and on time Working safely in line with our health and safety procedures and the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM) Keeping to current Building Control regulations and good building practice at all times Using materials efficiently and staying within the agreed scope of works Carrying out weekly and monthly checks on your vehicle, tools and stock Supporting projects outside your usual area when the business needs it What we offer Salary range £36,981 - £40,237 per year Company van / fuel card / tools /uniform / trade cards Overtime rate and overnight allowance 25 days plus 8 bank holidays + 1 extra day off for your birthday Workplace pension scheme Life assurance + critical illness cover Company bonus scheme Employee discounts A structured induction programme with all the training you need to feel confident on every job What you'll bring NVQ Level 2 in Carpentry, or equivalent Experience as a Carpenter or Joiner in a construction setting First-fix carpentry skills, working to set dimensions and tolerances Confidence reading and acting on technical survey information The ability to complete technical paperwork accurately A working knowledge of CDM and site health and safety An understanding of UK Building Control regulations A basic working knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems · A full UK driving licence, as this role comes with a company vehicle Bonus points if you also have Second-fix carpentry skills Multi-trade skills, such as plastering or general building Experience on loft conversions or similar projects What the role involves day to day This is a hands-on role working in customers' homes. It includes lifting, using hand and power tools, and working at height. You'll mostly work within Peterborough area (East of England region), with travel elsewhere when needed and occasional overnight stays. Some flexibility on hours is needed to meet project schedules.
