The Details: Permanent Full Time | 9 day fortnight $103,597pa + 12% super (level 5) 72.5 hour fortnight Hybrid, flexible working environment, including some work from home days. Location: Narangba Join City of Moreton Bay as a Building Inspector, and help shape and enhance our communities for today and tomorrow. As a Building Inspector in the Building and Facilities in our Operations department, you'll provide expertise on building condition and compliance relating to structural integrity, hydraulic and fire compliance, asbestos compliance, building safety, planned maintenance and renewal priorities for Council buildings and facilities. You'll also: Undertake scheduled inspections, reporting building defects and deficiencies Provide technical input, costing estimates and advice for the development of the programmed maintenance and renewal programs Undertake technical assessments and investigations and provide expert advice and costing estimates Conduct building Pre-handover inspections at Practical Completion and conclusion of Defect Liability Period for new and refurbished building projects Provide detailed information to the Defect Management Officer. Click here for the Position Description About you Bring your building construction industry experience, knowledge and experience in conducting building surveys, and knowledge of structural integrity, asbestos compliance, fire and electrical safety and other building compliance matters. You'll also have: Demonstrated knowledge of building construction matters, interpretation of construction plans and specification Investigative, analytical, research and technical report writing skills Interpersonal skills to work with the team environment and internal and external customers Knowledge of workplace health and safety legislation and practices applicable to building services Queensland Building and Construction Commission completed Residential Building Inspector licence (ability to obtain within 3 months from commencement) Asbestos Awareness Certificate (or ability to obtain within 3 months from commencement) Construction Induction Card competency (or willing to obtain) Current class C driving licence (required).
