Hybrid working: Minimum 40% in person collaboration per month

Salary: £45,167 per annum + excellent benefits

Safeguarding level: Level One

About the role

We’re excited to be recruiting a Business Analyst on a 12-month fixed-term contract to support WWF-UK’s programme of systems transformation.

Working as part of the Business Systems Improvement team, you’ll help make sure new systems and processes genuinely meet the needs of the people who use them.

You’ll work with colleagues across WWF-UK to understand how things work today, identify where improvements are needed and translate those needs into clear requirements for new solutions.

This is a hands-on role covering the full project lifecycle. You’ll gather and document requirements, map current and future processes, create user stories and acceptance criteria, manage product backlogs and support the development of business cases.

You’ll also work closely with internal delivery teams, subject matter experts and external partners to help shape solutions, support testing and keep delivery focused on the things that matter most.

A key part of the role will be bringing clarity to complex problems. You’ll use data, insight and structured analysis to identify opportunities to simplify ways of working, improve efficiency and make better use of technology.

You’ll also support solution research and procurement activity where needed and help make sure requirements, decisions and processes are clearly documented throughout delivery.

We’re looking for someone who is analytical, collaborative and comfortable working across both business and technology teams. You’ll be confident asking the right questions, facilitating conversations and turning complex requirements into clear, practical next steps.

Please note that this role is not a Data Analyst role.

Skills and experience

You’ll bring the skills and experience needed to succeed in this role, including:

Essential

  • Experience working as a Business Analyst within digital, systems or technology transformation
  • Strong experience gathering and documenting user and business requirements
  • Good knowledge of business analysis techniques such as process mapping, gap analysis, impact analysis, user stories and requirements engineering
  • Experience translating business needs into clear functional requirements and acceptance criteria
  • Experience managing or contributing to product backlogs and prioritising requirements
  • Experience working across complex projects with multiple stakeholders and external delivery partners
  • Strong facilitation and communication skills, with confidence running workshops and working with subject matter experts
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify priorities and simplify complex requirements
  • Experience working with project delivery approaches such as Agile, Waterfall or Lean
  • Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage your own work and deliver to deadlines
  • Experience using process mapping or collaboration tools such as Visio, Mural or Miro
  • Experience using tools such as Azure DevOps or similar to manage requirements and delivery
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams

Desirable

  • Some experience with Microsoft Power Platform or related technologies
  • Knowledge of PowerApps, SQL or other tools used within modern business systems
  • Experience supporting user acceptance testing and resolving issues identified during testing
  • Experience contributing to business cases, market research or procurement activity
  • Business Analysis certification or equivalent practical training
  • Experience working within a charity, purpose-led or complex organisation

What we offer

We believe in rewarding our team with more than just a salary. Here’s what you can expect:

  • Annual leave starting at 26 days a year, rising one day each year to 31 days plus bank holidays
  • Flexible working options, to support your work life balance
  • 7.5% employer contribution to pension, rising to 10% with employee contribution
  • Learning and development opportunities to help you grow
  • Regular wellbeing initiatives to support your health and happiness.

This is a UK based contract, and you are required to have the Right to Work in the UK. Unfortunately, we’re unable to offer sponsorship and any offer of employment will be subject to evidence of your Right to Work in the UK.
