Position Summary

The Business Analyst II – Marketing supports Marketing and Marketing Technology initiatives by translating business needs into clear, actionable, and testable requirements. This role partners with Marketing, Product, Engineering, QA, Compliance, vendors, and other stakeholders to support marketing websites, campaign pages, analytics, tagging, SEO, content management, and related integrations.

Compensation

This role is an exempt position with a targeted salary range of $82,000 - $105,000 annually.

Compensation at Guild is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to local and federal minimum wage requirements, education, level of experience, and applicant’s geographical location.

Essential Functions

  • Gather, analyze, validate, and document business and system requirements for Marketing and Marketing Technology initiatives.
  • Translate high-level marketing requests into clear problem statements, desired outcomes, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Working knowledge of headless CMS architecture, particularly WordPress serving content to a separately hosted front end, with the ability to document content models, reusable content blocks, SEO fields, social-sharing fields, and governance needs.
  • Practical familiarity with GA4 and Google Tag Manager, including business measurement needs, dataLayer requirements, GTM configuration needs, and GA4 reporting expectations.
  • Understanding of SEO requirements for headless sites, including metadata, canonical URLs, redirects, robots directives, XML sitemaps, structured data, indexability, and social metadata.
  • Support requirements for websites, landing pages, forms, content publishing, tracking, analytics, accessibility, and third-party tools.
  • Document current-state and future-state workflows, process flows, data flows, and system dependencies.
  • Partner with Engineering to clarify APIs, integrations, data mapping, performance, caching, and system dependencies.
  • Document requirements beyond the happy path, including errors, permissions, stale data, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and collaborative documentation tools.
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, or similar tools preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented; ability to work in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, Wiki, collaborative cloud-based programs, and third-party software applications required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree directly related to the position or equivalent practical experience, preferred.
  • Minimum four years' experience in Business Analysis, Marketing Technology, Digital/Web, Product, Mortgage Lending Technology, Compliance, Risk, or related
    roles.
  • Experience working within Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid SDLC methodologies.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to simplify complex workflows and requirements.
  • Ability to produce clear documentation, including requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, data flows, and visual models.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at multiple levels.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with Marketing, Product, Engineering, QA, Compliance, vendors, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and collaborative documentation tools.

Supervision

  • Job Scope: Responsible for understanding the department/functional area objectives and goals and how own job contributes to achievement of these goals; may recommend changes and enhancements based on analysis and evaluation of circumstances

  • Complexity: Problems encountered are often complex and may involve significant resource coordination and availability, evaluating and resolving discrepancies with data, analyses, processes, etc. using own expertise and judgment

  • Interaction/Supervision: Works under broad direction with considerable latitude for independent actions; guided by professional standards, desired outcomes and unit/project/program specifications

Requirements

  • Physical: Work is primarily sedentary; mobility in an office setting.
  • Manual Dexterity: Frequent use of computer keyboard and mouse.
  • Audio/Visual: Ability to accurately interpret sounds and associated meanings at a volume consistent with interpersonal conversation.
  • Environmental: Office environment – no substantial exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
  • Travel: 5% or less
  • Mental: Learn new tasks, remember processes, maintain focus, complete tasks independently, and make timely decisions in the context of a workflow.
  • Schedules: Work is primarily performed during the business week, Monday - Friday
