The Business Analyst is responsible for analyzing business requirements, evaluating workflows, identifying process improvements, and collaborating with technical teams to implement system enhancements and reporting solutions. The analyst will support application testing, data validation, documentation, and stakeholder engagement to ensure system functionality and alignment with business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze business requirements and operational workflows supporting enterprise asset management systems.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, developers, and technical teams to define system enhancements and modernization requirements.
  • Facilitate requirements gathering sessions and document business, functional, and technical requirements.
  • Evaluate business processes and identify opportunities for automation, workflow optimization, and operational efficiency.
  • Support application maintenance, system upgrades, and enhancement initiatives throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, requirements traceability matrices, test plans, and user guides.
  • Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT), defect tracking, and validation of system enhancements.
  • Analyze data quality, reporting requirements, and system integration needs across multiple business platforms.
  • Support reporting, metrics development, and performance analysis to improve organizational decision-making.
  • Assist in change management, training, and end-user support activities.
  • Ensure compliance with accessibility standards, documentation requirements, and configuration management procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • 5+ years of experience providing internal/external analysis services to management and technical staff with supporting IT investments and solving complex IT project management issues in accordance with federal laws, regulations and procedures.
  • Successfully pass background and drug screening

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting application development, software modernization, or enterprise business systems.
  • Knowledge of SDLC methodologies, Agile practices, and requirements management processes.
  • Experience supporting database-driven applications and reporting environments.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Power BI, Visio, and Excel.
  • Experience conducting business process analysis and workflow improvement initiatives.
  • Familiarity with data validation, reporting, testing, and system integration activities.
  • Experience supporting federal government clients or asset management programs preferred.
  • Strong technical documentation and stakeholder engagement experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • In-depth knowledge of and experience with supporting project management office operations regarding the management, planning, implementation, and all phases of the capital planning and strategic planning processes.
  • Plans, conducts, and manages research and development work on projects of major complexity with the origination and application of new and best practices techniques.
  • Knowledge of process improvement and reengineering methodologies and principles as applied to process modernization projects.
  • Executive communication and presentation development.
  • Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Visio, SharePoint, and Microsoft 365 tools.
