About the Role
As a Business Analyst Team Lead, you will play a pivotal role in developing and growing HBF's Business Analysis capability while leading a team of talented Business Analysts. Working closely with the Head of Business Analysis, you'll provide coaching, technical guidance and leadership to build capability, drive best practice and ensure consistent delivery standards across the BA Chapter. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced senior Business Analyst leader with experience in developing people, influencing stakeholders and driving continuous improvement.

Alongside your leadership of the BA Chapter, you will dedicate a portion of your role to acting as a Technology Business Partner. Working closely with an allocated business area, you will build trusted stakeholder relationships, develop a deep understanding of operational challenges and proactively identify opportunities for process improvement, AI and intelligent automation. You will help translate these opportunities into practical, prioritised initiatives that deliver measurable and sustainable business value.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Leading, coaching and developing Business Analysts to support their performance, career growth and capability development.
  • Providing guidance on business analysis best practice, including user stories, acceptance criteria and process modelling.
  • Supporting the development and continuous improvement of business analysis frameworks, methodologies, standards and processes.
  • Building strong relationships with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Delivery Leads and business stakeholders to enable successful outcomes.
  • Contributing to workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding and resource allocation across the BA Chapter.
  • Promoting a strong risk and compliance culture while ensuring policies, standards and mandatory learning requirements are met.
  • Leading the adoption of AI-enabled BA practices, helping the chapter use AI responsibly to improve productivity, quality and consistency.
  • Fulfill a part-time Technology Business Partner role and work directly with operational business areas to drive sustainable improvement.

About You
You are a collaborative and influential leader with extensive Business Analysis experience and a passion for developing and leading people. You have a strong understanding of technology delivery, enjoy solving complex business problems and can confidently engage with stakeholders at all levels. Combining strategic thinking with hands-on expertise, you are committed to driving excellence, fostering high-performing teams and delivering meaningful business outcomes.

You will bring practical experience leading AI-enabled BA practices, coaching others in the effective use of AI and applying critical thinking to AI-generated outputs. You will identify opportunities where AI can create genuine business value while ensuring its responsible use within appropriate governance, risk and compliance guardrails.

Ideally, you will have:

  • 5-10 years' experience as a Senior Business Analyst, with a strong track record of delivering complex business and technology initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring and developing teams or business functions.
  • Strong knowledge of the software development lifecycle, project delivery methodologies and business analysis practices.
  • Proven ability to analyse complex problems, facilitate discussions and influence stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including experience producing high-quality business and technical documentation.
  • Experience using business analysis and collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, Miro and process mapping tools.
