We are seeking an experienced Business Architect for Manufacturing to define future-state business architecture across automotive manufacturing. This role will connect Enterprise strategy with specific Manufacturing capabilities, processes, information needs, and technology-enabled business outcomes.
The Business Architect will work globally with Business leaders, Product managers, Product designers, Engineers, and peer Architects. The selected candidate will bring an outside-in industry perspective, guide strategic decision-making and help product teams move from current-state challenges to well-defined future-state solutions.
The role requires strong functional knowledge of Automotive Manufacturing supported by sufficient technical awareness to collaborate with Solution Architects and engineering teams on solution direction, integration requirements, proofs of concept and implementation feasibility.
Key Responsibilities
Translate Enterprise strategy and architecture into clear, visual narratives connected to Manufacturing capabilities and use cases.
Apply industry insights and emerging Manufacturing trends to shape business strategy and solution recommendations.
Define the actions, standards and roadmaps required to transition from the current state to the desired future-state business architecture.
Develop business architecture artifacts, including capability maps, value streams, blueprints, process flows, user journeys, business integration models, and data flow diagrams.
Partner with Business and Product teams to gather requirements, document business processes and define conceptual architecture and data needs.
Assess non-functional requirements and collaborate with Product Owners/Managers and technical teams to determine appropriate design and integration patterns.
Identify integration issues and evaluate vendor solutions from a business, architectural and strategic-fit perspective.
Support proofs of concept, including hands-on development where required, to validate proposed solutions.
Ensure implemented solutions align with conceptual designs, enterprise standards and strategic objectives.
Create executive-ready presentations and Architectural Points of View that communicate business value, feasibility, dependencies, risks and mitigation strategies.
Facilitate results-driven discussions, drive recommendations to clear decisions, and communicate outcomes to management.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field preferred; MBA or equivalent advanced business degree is a plus.
Candidates should have 8+ years of experience in related business/IT roles, including progressive experience in the architecture or engineering space, with hands-on Business Analysis and/or Product Design and Product Management experience.
Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication and business storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex business and technical concepts into clear, actionable documentation, recommendations, and executive-ready presentations for product teams and senior management.
Strong business acumen in end-to-end Manufacturing processes, associated business capabilities and supporting solutions.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, planning and prioritization skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively while facilitating results-driven discussions, building stakeholder relationships and influencing cross-functional teams.
Adaptable, self-motivated, and proactive, with a collaborative, “can-do” attitude and the ability to quickly learn new business domains, technologies and architectural concepts.
Demonstrated commitment to quality, collaboration and agreed project timelines.
