Business Central Analyst

Job Description This is a remote position. One of our large clients is looking for a contract Business Central Analyst. Details are as below: Role Description The Business Central Analyst is responsible for designing, developing, configuring, and supporting Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central solutions. This role includes Business Central extension development, integrations, reporting, system optimization, upgrades, and ongoing support activities. Responsibilities: • Design, develop, customize, and maintain Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central applications and extensions using AL language. • Develop and deploy Business Central extensions following modern extension architecture and best practices. • Customize pages, reports, tables, code units, workflows, and APIs. • Integrate Business Central with external systems and Microsoft technologies including Power Platform, Azure services, and Microsoft 365. • Build and maintain REST APIs, web services, and data integration solutions. • Participate in full software development lifecycle activities including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and support. • Collaborate with business analysts, functional consultants, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions. • Troubleshoot, optimize, and resolve application issues and performance bottlenecks. • Support data migration activities and system upgrades from legacy ERP platforms or previous Dynamics versions. • Develop reports and documents using RDLC and Word layouts. • Maintain technical documentation and development standards. • Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Requirements Requirements: • Education : Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. • Experience : o 3+ years of experience developing solutions in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or Dynamics NAV. o Recent hands-on experience with Business Central and AL extensions. o Strong proficiency in AL programming language and extension development. o Experience with Business Central SaaS environments. o Knowledge of Business Central architecture, configuration, and deployment models. o Experience with APIs, web services, JSON, XML, and integration frameworks such as REST APIs, API pages/queries, OData V4, and OAuth 2.0/Microsoft Entra ID. o Experience with Git and Azure DevOps source control practices. o Understanding of SQL Server and database concepts. o Experience with debugging, testing, and performance optimization. o CI/CD pipeline implementation • Technical Skills : o Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central o AL Development o Visual Studio Code o RDLC Reports o APIs / REST Services o SQL Server o Azure DevOps o Power Platform o Git o Microsoft 365 Integrations • Preferred Qualifications o Experience with Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI). o Experience with Azure Functions, Logic Apps, and cloud integrations. o Knowledge of ERP business processes including Finance, Procurement, Inventory, Supply Chain, or Operations. o MB-820 Business Central Developer Associate certification as the preferred Microsoft certification. o Microsoft certifications related to Dynamics 365 or Azure. • Nice to Have o Experience with Business Central upgrades and migrations o Multi-company or multi-tenant deployments o Agile/Scrum delivery experience • Soft Skills : o Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues. o Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. o Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
