Role Overview

We are looking for a Business Development / Channel Partnerships professional with 5+ years of experience in cross-border payments and emerging markets, with a strong focus on Latin America and/or Southeast Asia.

This role will own local payment and clearing partnerships across banks, payment institutions, acquirers, e-wallets, and other financial partners. We are looking for candidates with deep knowledge of local payment rails, settlement structures, fund flows, and regulatory requirements, rather than broad international BD experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage partnerships with local banks, payment institutions, acquirers, PSPs, and e-wallets across Latin America and/or Southeast Asia.
• Source, evaluate, and onboard local payment channels covering pay-in, pay-out, collection, settlement, and cross-border fund movement.
• Design and optimize end-to-end fund flows, including settlement, FX conversion, reconciliation, refunds, and exception handling.
• Lead commercial discussions covering pricing, settlement cycles, transaction limits, service levels, and channel performance.
• Assess partners from a commercial, operational, regulatory, and compliance perspective.
• Work closely with compliance and risk teams on KYC, KYB, AML, and partner due diligence.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, treasury, finance, legal, and operations teams to take new payment channels from sourcing through launch.
• Monitor channel performance, settlement efficiency, operational risks, and fund safety.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in cross-border payments, FI business development, channel partnerships, or payment partnerships.
• Direct experience covering Latin America and/or Southeast Asia.
• Deep understanding of local payment rails and clearing mechanisms, such as Pix, SPEI, DuitNow, QRIS, and major local e-wallet networks.
• Proven experience working directly with local banks, payment institutions, acquirers, PSPs, or e-wallets.
• Strong understanding of fund-flow design, settlement structures, and local clearing models.
• Familiarity with local payment regulations, licensing requirements, and KYC/KYB/AML frameworks.
• Strong commercial negotiation, partner management, and cross-functional execution skills.
• Ability to evaluate payment channels across commercial, regulatory, operational, and risk considerations.
