Business Development Consultant

We are seeking a high-calibre, persuasive communicator to join our team as a Business Development Consultant. This is a key client-facing role where you will directly engage with homeowners, understand their renovation needs, and connect them with the right professionals. Beyond matching services, you will build trust, deliver an exceptional experience, and help drive the company’s growth in the renovation and home improvement space.

This position is remote-first in Malaysia, with occasional travel to Singapore for training, client engagement, and team sessions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Homeowner Engagement

• Conduct high-volume daily outbound calls with homeowners who register for our service
• Actively listen and ask probing questions to fully understand each homeowner’s needs and renovation goal
• Provide clear, confident, and persuasive advice to help homeowners make informed decision

Matching & Advisory

• Assess homeowner requirements and match them with suitable renovation professional
• Coordinate with designers and contractors to ensure timely follow-ups and smooth communication
• Provide end-to-end advisory support, from the first call through to project handover

Relationship Management

• Build strong, trust-based relationships with homeowners and partner
• Handle inquiries across multiple channels (phone, chat, email) with professionalism and empathy
• Address challenges or objections quickly, ensuring a positive experience throughout

Market & Industry Knowledge

• Stay updated on renovation and home improvement trends, including homeowner pain points and contractor capabilities
• Share market insights internally to support sales strategies and improve service delivery
• Continuously refine your knowledge of renovation workflows to provide value-added advice

Process & Continuous Improvement

• Diligently document homeowner interactions, project requirements, and outcomes in internal systems
• Collect feedback from homeowners to help improve both the service and overall customer journey
• Contribute ideas to strengthen scripts, processes, and matching criteria to increase conversion and satisfaction rates

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Experience: 3–5 years in business development, telesales, inside sales, or customer-facing roles with measurable success.
• Languages: Strong verbal communication skills in both English and Mandarin (must be able to persuade and build rapport.
• Sales Acumen: Demonstrated ability to persuade, negotiate, and close conversations in a consultative, empathetic style.
• Customer-Centric Mindset: Genuine interest in understanding homeowner needs and providing the best possible solutions.
• Industry Interest: Passion or curiosity for the renovation/home improvement sector is a plus
• Tech-Savvy: Comfortable using Google Sheets (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Filters, formulas), technical assessment included in the process.
• Work Style: Self-motivated, coachable, adaptable to a fast-paced environment, and able to work independently while collaborating remotely with regional teammates.
• Location: Based in Malaysia; remote-first role with occasional travel to Singapore for client meetings and training.
