The best possible care.
The best possible you.
At Nexus Hospitals, we believe every patient deserves the quality and comfort of world-class care, right in their own community. We also believe that every team member deserves a life that keeps them at their best.
With a proud, growing network of 21 specialist hospitals across Australia, we offer the scale, stability and impact of a national healthcare leader, but with the tight-knit heart of a local team. By focusing on elective, day and short-stay surgeries, our partnership approach supports a more sustainable private healthcare model, with a shared focus on improving patient outcomes through an effective and sustainable private healthcare system.
We provide our teams with a healthier work rhythm, so you can build a career you'll be proud of without sacrificing what matters most to you.
Join us and discover a workplace built for humans - where world-class care meets a world-class life.
Your opportunity:
This is an opportunity to shape the next phase of growth for one of Australia's leading day and short stay hospital groups. Working alongside senior executives and hospital leaders, you will drive specialist recruitment, service expansion and strategic growth initiatives across Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania.
Reporting to the Southern Operations Director, you will develop and execute regional growth plans across Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania. You will identify and recruit specialist doctors, expand priority services, strengthen referrer networks and support strategic acquisition, greenfield and doctor investment opportunities.
You will work closely with hospital leaders across the Nexus network and with the CEO and Chief Strategy & Growth Officer. The role combines external relationship development with disciplined commercial analysis and delivery.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and delivering regional and hospital-specific growth plans.
- Recruiting specialist doctors in priority service areas and supporting sustainable activity growth.
- Identifying and progressing new services, acquisitions and greenfield opportunities.
- Building productive relationships with doctors, practices, GPs and other healthcare referrers.
- Support the preparation of business cases and analysing market, activity, revenue, cost and capital data.
- Maintaining a high-quality opportunity pipeline and CRM records, with clear reporting against agreed measures.
Who we're looking for:
You are a commercially minded healthcare growth leader who builds credibility with doctors and converts opportunities into measurable results. You are collaborative, self-directed and comfortable working across multiple hospitals and stakeholder groups.
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
- Senior business development, growth or commercial experience in private hospitals, healthcare services, medical devices, specialist practice management or a closely related sector.
- Established healthcare networks and demonstrated experience engaging specialist doctors and referrers.
- Strong commercial acumen, including business case development and evaluation of growth opportunities.
- Working knowledge of the private health insurance system and relevant legislation and regulation.
- Excellent communication, influencing, negotiation and relationship management skills.
- The ability to work autonomously while maintaining a practical one-team approach.
Regular travel throughout Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania is required.
Remuneration
An attractive executive remuneration package, including performance-based incentive arrangements, will be negotiated with the successful candidate.
