About Blackmont Consulting

Blackmont Consulting is an advisory firm, not a full-service execution provider. We may get hands-on with parts of a client’s process to test or improve an approach, but we do not typically run a client’s operations end-to-end on their behalf.

About the Role

This is a hands-on, performance-driven internship, not a passive or observational role.

As a Business Development Intern, you will own your own pipeline from prospecting through to signed agreements. This includes researching potential clients, conducting outreach, following up, developing tailored proposals, and coordinating with your manager throughout the process.

What We Offer

• Strong CV value: Real, client-facing experience with actual companies, not mock exercises.

• Hands-on from day one: Participate in real client conversations and learn to navigate genuine objections.

• Path to promotion: Strong performers may progress to a Business Development Manager role.

• Real network: Build connections with fellow interns, managers, and consultants across the organisation.

• Direct mentorship: Receive ongoing feedback and participate in shared learning through weekly team meetings.

• Recommendation letter: A strong recommendation letter is a realistic outcome for interns who perform well.

Key Responsibilities

• Self-driven & resilient: Take ownership of your pipeline and remain persistent despite rejection.

• Strong communicator: Be organised, detail-oriented, and clear in your outreach and communication.

• Persistent & process-disciplined: Maintain consistent follow-ups and ensure opportunities do not fall through the cracks.

• Curious & collaborative: Show genuine interest in the work and a willingness to learn from the team.

• Independent & outreach-ready: Be comfortable with cold outreach. Previous sales experience is a plus, but not required.

What We’re Looking For

• Time commitment: Approximately 5 hours per week.

• Responsiveness: Respond to team communications within 48 hours.

• Client project target: Close at least one client project per month. Your first project may reasonably take 5-7 weeks.

• Meetings & reporting: Attend onboarding and weekly team meetings and keep your manager updated on progress.

• Professionalism: Approach the internship with the same level of professionalism expected in a paid role.

Start Date

Beginning of the November.

Important Note

This is a voluntary, unpaid internship designed for students and recent graduates seeking hands-on experience while working in a global, remote organisation.
