We believe pioneering work happens when people are empowered to think beyond boundaries, explore new opportunities and grow through diverse experiences. Alongside the right skills and experience, we look for people who are innovative, commercially minded, and motivated by the impact of the work they do – ready to share in our ambition and help shape what comes next. Because while individuals can do well, together we achieve something extraordinary. Business Development Manager - Brussels The Brussels office of Norton Rose Fulbright is located in the heart of the European District. Our team of around 30 people works in a friendly, collaborative environment, with a strong international outlook supported by our global network of offices in more than 50 cities. We work particularly closely with our colleagues in London and Amsterdam. As the BD Manager in Brussels, you will work directly with Partners, associates and our Senior Knowledge Lawyer to manage all BD activities for the office, with a particular focus on our Competition practice. Your work will play an essential role in growing the practice, strengthening its visibility, and enhancing our market positioning. You will report to the Senior MBD Manager Benelux, based in Amsterdam, and collaborate regularly with the BD team there. This includes occasional travel for training and team activities. You may also support smaller Competition teams in other offices from time to time. Our secretarial team will support you with a range of administrative tasks. We are looking for an experienced BD Executive ready to step up, or a BD Manager. Experience in a law firm is strongly preferred, though we are open to candidates from other corporate environments with relevant BD and marketing experience. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Support partners and associates in preparing tailored pitches and proposals for clients as well as responding to RFQs Monitoring market trends and clients’ activities to identify potential opportunities. Develop a network across NRF offices and practice groups to facilitate collaboration between Brussels lawyers and lawyers elsewhere. Lead the Chambers, Legal 500 and other directory submissions to maximise the visibility of the Brussels practice. Develop and maintain marketing materials (presentations, credentials, brochures, newsletters) and keep the Brussels webpages up to date. Support the logistics and content for client events, meetings, presentations and thought‑leadership activities. Ensure BD databases and internal records are kept up to date. EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED At least 5 years’ experience in a business development role, ideally in a law firm or a similar professional services environment. Impeccable English; French is an advantage. Strong writing skills and the ability to turn technical information into clear, engaging content. Comfortable handling multiple, sometimes tight, deadlines and working directly with partners and liaising with NRF personnel across the network. Ability to take initiative to solve problems and move tasks forward. Good command of MS Office and openness to learning new tools, including AI applications to achieve efficiencies. Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to build credibility at all levels. A genuine interest in the legal environment relevant to Brussels and EU‑focused practices. OUR OFFER Competitive salary aligned with industry standards and your experience level. Attractive benefits package, including meal vouchers, group pension plan, and hospitalisation insurance. Hybrid work model with up to two remote days per week (subject to business needs). Access to a wide range of in-house training programs to support your professional growth. A dynamic and friendly work environment with regular social activities. Our new enabled work model allows our people to have more flexibility in the way they choose to work from both the office and a remote location, while continuing to deliver the highest standards of service. We offer a range of family friendly and inclusive employment policies and provide access to programmes and services aimed at nurturing our people’s health and overall wellbeing.
