Are you passionate about helping employers develop their workforce? Do you live in the East Midlands?
We're looking for a Business Development Manager to join one of England's most respected training providers, selling an exciting new Management Skills Bootcamp to employers across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire, alongside funded AI Units to employers across England.
You'll be joining a multi award-winning, Ofsted Grade 2 Good training provider with over 25 years' experience that genuinely values quality over quantity, looks after its staff and rewards success.
Since 2000, they've supported over 50,000 individuals into skills and employment and helped more than 8,000 businesses recruit and upskill their staff. They're a medium-sized organisation with a big heart - friendly, supportive and committed to doing things properly.
What will you be selling?
Management Skills Bootcamp (Your main focus)
You'll be introducing employers across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire to a new Level 3 Management Skills Bootcamp.
The programme is designed to help employers upskill existing and aspiring managers through a Level 3 CMI Award in Management. It's delivered remotely over 16 weeks, with learners attending one afternoon each week, allowing them to continue working whilst completing the qualification.
Employers contribute just 10% towards the cost of the programme, with the remaining 90% funded by the Government. This gives employers access to a recognised Level 3 CMI Award in Management worth £3,000 for a fraction of the commercial cost, making it an attractive and affordable way to invest in their management teams.
Following the recent defunding of management apprenticeships, we expect there to be strong employer demand for this programme.
AI Units
Alongside the Management Skills Bootcamp, you'll also promote funded AI Units to employers across England.
These are short, flexible training programmes designed to help organisations upskill existing employees, from understanding the basics of AI through to implementing and managing AI within the workplace.
The AI Units are funded through the Apprenticeship Levy for levy-paying employers and are fully funded for SMEs.
What you'll be doing day to day:
- Planning, developing and executing your business development strategy to grow the Management Skills Bootcamp across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire
- Developing new employer relationships and selling AI Units to organisations across England
- Building long-term relationships with employers, becoming a trusted partner for workforce development and future training needs
- Meeting with key decision-makers including HR, Learning & Development, Operations Directors and senior leadership teams
- Presenting the value of the Management Skills Bootcamp and AI Units to employers
- Managing the employer journey through to learner enrolment
- Working towards learner enrolment targets and contract performance targets

Employer engagement experience within a government-funded training provider, college or commercial training provider, selling apprenticeship programmes, Skills Bootcamps or commercial training solutions to employers.
We're particularly keen to hear from candidates with experience promoting Skills Bootcamp opportunities to employers for the upskilling of existing employees.
We're also particularly interested in hearing from candidates who have sold funded or commercial leadership and management qualifications to employers.
