Senior Business Development Manager – Manufacturing

Our client is an established precision manufacturing business operating across multiple sites in Ireland. The company delivers high-quality injection-moulded components to customers across regulated industries and is now seeking an experienced Senior Business Development Manager to support its continued growth.

The Opportunity

This is a senior, hands-on commercial role focused primarily on developing business within the medical device and pharmaceutical sectors.

Working closely with the Managing Director and Chief Commercial Officer, the successful candidate will inherit established customer relationships, warm leads and industry connections.

They will be responsible for developing these opportunities while identifying and securing new business across Ireland and the wider European market.

A key objective will be to grow clean-room manufacturing activity while also developing suitable opportunities across the company’s wider non-clean-room injection-moulding capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and convert new business opportunities within the medical device and pharmaceutical sectors.
• Build relationships with relevant decision-makers across Ireland and Europe.
• Manage and develop existing customer accounts.
• Build upon an established pipeline of warm leads and industry connections.
• Take ownership of the full sales cycle, from initial engagement through to commercial negotiation, closing and operational handover.
• Identify opportunities that align with the company’s clean-room and non-clean-room manufacturing capabilities.
• Work closely with technical, quality and operations teams on customer proposals and new product introduction.
• Develop a detailed understanding of the company’s injection-moulding processes, machinery and technical value proposition.
• Represent the business at customer meetings, site visits and relevant industry events.
• Provide ongoing market intelligence and support the wider commercial growth strategy.

The Person

The successful candidate will be an experienced and commercially credible business development professional with a strong understanding of medical injection moulding and the wider medtech manufacturing market.

They should have:

• A proven track record in business development or technical sales within medical injection moulding.
• An established network of contacts across the Irish and European medical device markets.
• Experience developing new business within regulated manufacturing environments.
• A strong understanding of customer requirements within medical device or pharmaceutical manufacturing.
• Experience managing the complete sales process, from opportunity identification through to contract agreement.
• Strong commercial, negotiation and relationship-management skills.
• The ability to understand technical manufacturing capabilities and communicate their commercial value effectively.
• A self-sufficient, hands-on and results-focused approach.
• The credibility to engage with senior commercial, technical and procurement stakeholders.

Working Model

The role will involve a combination of office-based work, remote working and travel to meet customers and prospective clients. While primarily desk-based, the successful candidate must be comfortable travelling across Ireland and Europe as required.
