Role Description The Business Development Manager is a full-time, hybrid role based in South East UK, with flexibility for partial work from home. This position is responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, nurturing existing client relationships, and driving revenue growth in contract lifting and crane hire services. Day-to-day tasks include prospecting and qualifying leads, preparing proposals and quotations, conducting client meetings and presentations, and negotiating commercial terms. The role also involves collaborating with operations and technical teams to ensure that solutions meet client requirements, maintaining accurate CRM records, monitoring market trends and competitors, and contributing to sales forecasts and strategic planning. The Business Development Manager is expected to represent Notus at industry events and build strong networks within the construction, infrastructure, and related sectors.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management, ideally within lifting operations, construction, or industrial services.
  • Strong commercial acumen, including the ability to prepare and interpret quotations, contracts, and proposals.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage confidently with clients at all levels.
  • Ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships and collaborate effectively with internal technical and operations teams.
  • Solid organizational and time-management skills, including experience using CRM systems and managing a sales pipeline.
  • Knowledge of lifting operations, crane hire, or related safety and regulatory considerations is highly beneficial.
  • Comfort working in a hybrid model, traveling to client sites and industry events as needed.
  • Relevant education in business, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
