Job Overview:

Prometric is seeking a high-performing Business Development Manager to expand our presence across multiple industries by introducing organizations to our market-leading assessment and credentialing solutions. As demand continues to grow for secure, flexible, and location-agnostic testing experiences, this role will be instrumental in identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities.

Working from both marketing-generated leads and self-sourced prospects, you will engage senior decision-makers, uncover business challenges, and position Prometric's solutions to deliver value, improve access, strengthen test security, and support workforce and credentialing objectives. Success in this role requires a consultative sales mindset, strong prospecting skills, and the ability to translate customer needs into compelling business outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive new business growth by identifying, pursuing, and closing opportunities across Prometric's target markets and industry verticals.
  • Lead complex sales engagements from prospecting through contract execution, including competitive pursuits, executive presentations, and commercial negotiations.
  • Develop a deep understanding of customer strategies, challenges, and business objectives to position high-value assessment and credentialing solutions.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior decision-makers, influencers, and strategic partners serving as strategic advisors throughout the sales process.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Operations, Technology, Finance, Legal, and Executive Leadership, to develop customer centric solutions and winning proposals.
  • Execute consultative sales strategies that align customer needs with Prometric's assessment, testing, and credentialing capabilities.
  • Build, manage, and maintain a robust sales pipeline while delivering accurate forecasts and revenue projections.
  • Represent Prometric at industry conferences, trade shows, and customer engagements to enhance market presence and generate new business opportunities.
  • Monitor industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activity to identify emerging opportunities and inform commercial strategy.
  • Utilize Salesforce and other sales tools to effectively manage opportunities, customer engagement, and pipeline performance.
  • Lead commercial discussions and contract negotiations to secure profitable, long-term customer relationships.
  • Successfully navigate complex buying cycles, differentiate Prometric's value proposition, and advance opportunities through the sales process.
  • Achieve or exceed annual bookings, revenue targets, and pipeline objectives while maintaining a high level of professionalism and customer satisfaction.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of successful consultative, solution-based sales experience with a demonstrated ability to manage complex sales cycles and strategic customer relationships.
  • Proven track record of selling to C-level executives and senior decision-makers within medium to large organizations.
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced business, technology, or related professional certifications are preferred.
  • Demonstrated success generating new business, penetrating new markets, and consistently achieving or exceeding revenue targets.
  • Experience leading competitive sales pursuits, including RFP responses, executive presentations, and multi-stakeholder evaluation processes.
  • Proven ability to identify, develop, negotiate, and close enterprise-level opportunities in highly competitive markets.
  • Experience selling technology, SaaS, assessment, credentialing, education, workforce development, or other business-to-business solutions.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, including experience developing proposals, pricing strategies, business cases, and return-on-investment justifications.
  • Ability to negotiate complex agreements involving procurement, legal, financial, and executive stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to understand customer challenges and develop tailored, value-driven solutions.
  • Self-starter with a results-oriented mindset and a history of achieving ambitious sales, pipeline, and growth objectives.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, presentation, and executive communication skills.
  • Ability to build credibility and influence stakeholders at all organizational levels, including senior leadership and executive teams.
  • Demonstrated success working cross-functionally with product, operations, technology, finance, legal, and leadership teams to develop and deliver winning solutions.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously while maintaining a customer-first focus.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce CRM and other sales enablement tools for pipeline management, forecasting, and opportunity tracking.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 35% to support customer meetings, industry events, conferences, and business development activities.
