Role Description The Business Development Manager is a full-time, remote role based in Toronto, ON. This role is responsible for identifying and qualifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining relationships with pharmaceutical and biotech partners, and promoting CELL’s AI platforms and drug development solutions. Day-to-day activities include conducting market research, preparing and delivering client presentations, leading proposal development, and negotiating commercial agreements in collaboration with internal stakeholders. The Business Development Manager will work closely with scientific, product, and marketing teams to align client needs with CELL’s offerings, support strategic partnerships, and contribute to revenue growth and long-term customer success.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to develop and manage strategic partnerships, client relationships, and sales pipelines in pharmaceutical, biotech, or related sectors.
- Experience in business development, account management, or commercial roles involving complex technical or scientific solutions.
- Strong skills in market research, opportunity assessment, and competitive analysis to inform go-to-market and growth strategies.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
- Comfort working cross-functionally with scientific, product, and marketing teams to shape tailored solutions for clients.
- Understanding of or strong interest in AI, data analytics, and drug development or broader life sciences domains.
- Proven organizational and time-management abilities, with capacity to prioritize multiple initiatives and meet deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, life sciences, engineering, or a related field; advanced degree (MBA, MSc, etc.) is an asset.
- Prior experience in a high-growth, innovation-driven environment or startup setting is beneficial.
- Ability to work on-site in Toronto, ON, and travel as needed for client meetings, conferences, and industry events.
