Inspired is a market leading, technology-enabled provider of energy and sustainability solutions in the UK - supporting businesses to transition to net zero carbon and manage their response to climate change.

Established in 2000, we became the first publicly quoted advisor following a successful AIM debut in 2011. We are now the UK’s number one destination for businesses seeking expert insight and advisory services to help them manage their energy costs, reduce their carbon emissions and prove their net zero carbon and ESG strategies to their investors and customers.

SystemsLink and Horizon Energy Group (HEG) are wholly owned subsidiaries of Inspired.

SystemsLink provides “energy management” software services to both Inspired group companies and the open market throughout the UK and Ireland: approximately 1/3 of UK gas and electricity consumption is managed through its software which, beyond Inspired, is operated by energy consultancies and estate intensive clients such as Aldi, Lidl, Digital Realty, Network Rail, NI Water, 60& UK Local Authorities, NHS Trusts throughout the UK and Transport for London.

SystemsLink has recently launched a state-of-the-art AI-powered energy management platform called Daisy. Daisy builds on 25 years’ experience in the sector with exciting new functionality that facilitates cross-sell opportunities from and to the Inspired group and its clients.

We are looking for a Business Development Manager to join our successful Horizon Energy/SystemsLink team. This role is home based with travel across Ireland required.

Role and Responsibilities

Software and professional services sales (“Daisy” and Inspired [HEG] cross-sales).

The successful candidate will work across Ireland hand in hand with Horizon Energy (HEG). HEG is Ireland’s largest energy consultant managing a portfolio of 8 TWh and in excess of 100,000 meter points covering NI and the ROI. HEG is a great source of highly qualified leads including, for the right candidate, readily available EMEA opportunities.

Together you will identify software and cross-selling opportunities, develop joint commercial initiatives and leverage existing customer relationships to accelerate SystemsLink's growth in Ireland.

You will grow SystemsLink’s presence in Ireland by leveraging and developing strong relationships with existing group customers and prospective customers, manage opportunities through the full sales cycle and deliver sustainable revenue growth through a consultative, value-led approach.

The successful candidate's responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Developing SystemsLink’s market position in Ireland by identifying target sectors and prospective customers.
  • Generating, qualifying and progressing new SaaS sales opportunities through the full sales pipeline.
  • Responding to formal inbound tender requests.
  • Engaging senior stakeholders to understand their operational and reporting requirements and articulate the value of SystemsLink’s software.
  • Delivering tailored software demonstrations, presentations and proposals, supported by relevant internal specialists.
  • Managing commercial negotiations, procurement processes and SaaS contract discussions through to signature.
  • Maintaining accurate opportunity, activity and forecast information in the CRM and reporting progress against agreed targets.
  • Working collaboratively with marketing, product, implementation and customer teams to support acquisition and a smooth customer handover.
  • Representing SystemsLink at relevant events, networks and customer meetings across Ireland.
  • Reading and complying with the company’s Health and Safety Policy; taking reasonable care for the health and safety of themselves and others; and co-operating with managers and colleagues in fulfilling company objectives and statutory duties.

  • Self-motivation, tenacity, professionalism and effective organisation and prioritisation

Desirable:

  • Experience selling SaaS solutions in the Irish market
