Oxford Economics, a leading global economic research and consultancy firm, is looking to hire a Business Development Manager to expand our APAC footprint. This role will focus on developing Oxford Economics’ subscription research business across Asia-Pacific through new business development, upselling, and client relationship management. The BDM will sell subscription services to prospects and existing clients across a range of sectors, including financial services, real estate, manufacturing, automotive, construction and infrastructure, mining, consumer, technology, and travel and tourism, depending on experience. As part of Oxford Economics’ Asia-Pacific growth strategy, this is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing business at the forefront of economic research and advisory services. Key Responsibilities Sales and Client Management Initiate and close sales of subscription services through meetings, phone sales, and conferences. Create and execute strategies to sell subscription products. Research, create, and implement sales strategies for assigned sectors and territories. Through market analysis, identify key companies and stakeholders to establish relationships with the objective of closing sales. Coordinate sector business development initiatives and build a pipeline for the respective sector or country. Manage relationships with existing clients to ensure renewals and upsell new subscription products. Maintain knowledge of global economic and business trends to facilitate conversations with clients. Create sales presentations and lead webinars and meetings with prospective clients. Internal Communication Work closely with the economics team to promote the Oxford brand and the research being produced in the region. Prepare weekly sales reports to be shared with senior management. Communicate opportunities and any other feedback to immediate and regional teams. Ensure contact details for new leads and prospects are recorded in Salesforce. Ensure details and outcomes from meetings and calls are recorded in Salesforce. Marketing and Product Enhancements Organise and manage events to raise brand profile and increase sales opportunities. Create marketing campaigns to sell various subscription services. Provide feedback and suggest product improvements to product teams based on client interaction and competitor analysis. Skills, Knowledge & Expertise Required Proven, demonstrable sales track record, with at least 3+ years of experience. Experience selling business and/or economic research to a senior audience. Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple projects at once. Strong presentation and writing skills, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Self-starter with the drive to set and reach ambitious goals. Strong team player. Skills and Experience: Desired Degree in economics, finance, business, or international affairs; advanced degree preferable. Existing contacts within finance, corporate, and government organisations in ASEAN. Salesforce experience.
