Business Development Representative (BDR) – U.S. Market

Location: Egypt (Remote)

Industry: Food & Beverage | International Trade | B2B Sales

Compensation: $300 USD Base + Uncapped Commission

On-Target Earnings (OTE): $500 USD/month (approximately EGP 26,395)

ABOUT US

We are an emerging international food trading business focused on connecting Egyptian fruit producers with buyers in the United States.

Our goal is to build long-term relationships with U.S. importers, distributors, wholesalers, retailers, and food manufacturers by introducing high-quality, competitively sourced fruit products from Egypt.

Our founding team brings extensive experience across the food industry and B2B sales, combining deep industry knowledge with a strong understanding of how to identify opportunities, engage decision-makers, and build commercial relationships. We believe this combination puts us in a unique position to successfully enter and grow within the U.S. market.

As we expand, we are looking for a motivated Business Development Representative to help establish our presence, develop our sales pipeline, and create new business opportunities.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a proactive, results-driven Business Development Representative based in Egypt to identify and engage potential U.S. buyers through cold calling, email outreach, and other outbound prospecting methods.

Your primary focus will be generating interest, qualifying potential opportunities, and scheduling meetings with relevant decision-makers.

You will report directly to the co-founders, working closely with them and receiving hands-on support with prospect research, target account identification, outreach messaging, and sales strategy.

While previous B2B sales experience is important, extensive knowledge of the U.S. fruit import market is not required. We value coachability, initiative, and a willingness to learn and develop alongside the business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

* Prospecting & Outreach: Research and engage potential U.S. customers, including importers, distributors, wholesalers, retailers, food manufacturers, and brands, through cold calls, emails, and other outreach channels.

* Decision-Maker Engagement: Identify and connect with purchasing managers, sourcing directors, category buyers, business owners, and other relevant stakeholders.

* Lead Qualification: Understand prospective buyers’ sourcing needs, purchasing processes, budgets, and timelines to identify genuine commercial opportunities.

* Meeting Generation: Schedule meetings with qualified prospects for the management team to explore potential business relationships.

* Pipeline Management: Maintain organized records of prospecting activities, buyer requirements, conversations, and follow-ups while consistently advancing potential opportunities.

* Market Intelligence: Gather and communicate insights on customer demand, sourcing preferences, pricing expectations, and market opportunities.

* Collaboration & Improvement: Work closely with the co-founders to refine prospecting strategies, improve messaging, incorporate feedback, and continuously improve results.

QUALIFICATIONS

* Previous experience in B2B sales, business development, lead generation, or outbound prospecting.

* Excellent spoken and written English, with the confidence to communicate professionally with U.S.-based businesses.

* Strong cold-calling, communication, objection-handling, and relationship-building skills.

* Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple prospects, track conversations, and maintain consistent follow-ups.

* Self-motivated, persistent, and comfortable working toward performance targets.

* Coachable, receptive to feedback, and committed to continuous improvement.

* Curious, adaptable, and eager to learn about the U.S. food import and distribution market.

* Willingness to take initiative, solve problems independently, and take ownership of responsibilities.

* Availability to work hours that overlap with U.S. business hours.

Preferred but Not Required:

* Previous experience selling to U.S.-based businesses.

* Familiarity with food distribution, wholesale, international trade, or import/export.

COMPENSATION & INCENTIVES

* Base Salary: $300 USD/month (approximately EGP 15,837).

* Target Commission: $200 USD/month (approximately EGP 10,558).

* On-Target Earnings (OTE): $500 USD/month (approximately EGP 26,395).

* Uncapped Commission: Opportunity to earn beyond target compensation based on performance.

* Commission Accelerators: Earn 1.5× the standard commission rate on qualified opportunities generated beyond target.

Commission is earned based on qualified sales opportunities generated through outbound prospecting, as reviewed and approved by the management team.

Opportunity Qualification – BANT Framework

Opportunities will be evaluated using the following criteria:

* Budget: Financial capacity or purchasing potential.

* Authority: Access to a decision-maker or someone with meaningful purchasing influence.

* Need: Genuine demand or a relevant business need for our products.

* Timeline: An identifiable purchasing timeline or realistic opportunity for future engagement.

Qualification will consider the overall commercial potential of each opportunity, recognizing that not every BANT criterion may be fully established during initial conversations.

EGP amounts are approximate and subject to exchange-rate fluctuations.

WHAT WE OFFER

* Direct mentorship and hands-on coaching from co-founders with extensive experience in the food industry and B2B sales.

* Support with prospecting, outreach messaging, market research, and sales strategy.

* Hands-on experience selling into the U.S. market and exposure to international trade and food distribution.

* Performance-based incentives with uncapped earning potential and commission accelerators.

* The opportunity to contribute meaningfully to an emerging business and grow professionally as the company expands.

* Opportunity to relocate to the United States in the future.

WHY JOIN US?

Egypt produces some incredible fruit, and we believe there’s a real opportunity to bring more of it to the U.S. market. The challenge is getting in front of the right people, starting the right conversations, and turning that potential into actual business. That’s where you come in.

You’ll be joining at an early stage, where your work genuinely matters. You’ll help us figure out which buyers to approach, what gets their attention, and how to turn a cold conversation into a business opportunity. You’ll work directly with the co-founders, learning from their experience in food distribution and B2B sales while helping shape our approach to the U.S. market.

We’ll support you with research, messaging, and guidance, but we’re looking for someone who brings their own energy, ideas, and initiative to the table.

  • If you’re the kind of person who enjoys the challenge of getting through to a buyer, doesn’t get discouraged by rejection and gets excited about seeing a conversation you started turn into a real business relationship, there’s plenty of room to grow as we grow, and we can’t wait to hear from you!
