Business Development Representative (BDR) — Energy & BESS

About us

EL².AI builds EL² Orbit — an AI-powered energy management platform for battery energy storage (BESS) and virtual power plants (VPP). We help C&I and utility-scale asset owners maximize revenue through optimized participation in electricity markets — day-ahead, intraday, and balancing..

You'll be one of the first commercial hires, working directly with the founders — with a real path to shaping our go-to-market and growing into an AE or market-lead role.

What you'll do

• Identify and qualify prospects: BESS asset owners, solar park operators, C&I energy consumers, EPCs, and energy traders across Bulgaria and the region
• Run outbound campaigns (LinkedIn, email, calls, industry events) and manage inbound leads
• Book and prepare discovery meetings for the founders; own the top of the funnel in our CRM
• Learn the domain deeply — energy markets, storage economics, flexibility services — and translate it into sharp messaging
• Represent EL².AI at energy conferences and industry gatherings
• Feed market intelligence back into product and pricing decisions

What we're looking for

• 1–3 years in sales development, business development, or a commercial role — ideally B2B SaaS, energy, or industrial tech
• Genuine curiosity about the energy transition; you don't need to know what aFRR is on day one, but you'll want to
• Fluent Bulgarian and strong English (written and spoken); other regional languages are a plus
• Structured, self-driven, comfortable with ambiguity — this is an early-stage startup, not a scripted call center
• Strong writing: your emails get answered

Nice to have: experience selling to energy companies or utilities, familiarity with electricity markets (IBEX or similar), technical background.
