This is hard, urgent, selfless work—but it’s work worth doing. If you’re driven by purpose and ready to bring your best to work that truly matters for patients, we invite you to join us.
ABOUT THE ROLE
At Lilly, we unite caring with discovery to make life better for people around the world. We are looking for people who are determined to do the same.
This role owns the affiliate’s financial planning agenda — business plan, forecast, long-range plan, and close — and partners with the Commercial, Market Access, Medical, and Operations teams to frame the economics of business decisions and allocate resources where they create the most value. It also owns the procurement and third-party spend agenda — from sourcing and supplier negotiation through purchase-to-pay compliance — driving value from supplier relationships and third-party spend across the affiliate.
We are looking for someone who does not just report the numbers — you influence them. Success here is measured by the quality of the decisions the business makes because you were in the room.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Business partnering and influencing
- Act as finance partner to the commercial and enabling functions, influencing decisions through insight and challenge.
- Present recommendations to the Colombia Leadership Team, CFO, General Manager, and Hub stakeholders, with clear financial storytelling on risks, opportunities, and proposed actions.
- Translate complex financial and market data into decision-ready options, including trade-offs when resources are constrained.
Financial planning and performance management
- Lead the affiliate’s planning cycles end to end — business plan, quarterly forecast updates, long-range plan, and month-end close — building projections grounded in historical performance, market dynamics, and commercial strategy.
- Own the full OPEX cycle — budget, forecast, and close — with variance analysis that carries actionable recommendations, and partner with HR on personnel-related expense tracking.
- Define and monitor the KPIs that matter; provide proactive commentary on financial and operational performance to the affiliate, the Hub, and global finance.
- Run scenario and sensitivity analysis — including payer, FX, and market access dynamics — and respond rigorously to ad-hoc questions from senior leadership.
Portfolio economics and business decisions
- Build the demand and revenue outlook with the brand teams, and develop the short- and long-term financial strategy for the portfolio, including new launches.
- Assess product and channel profitability considering cost, volume, mix, competition, and reimbursement dynamics; recommend actions that protect and grow value.
- Build and pressure-test business cases for launches and commercial initiatives, with full P&L impact.
Procurement
- Partner with business owners and Global Procurement on sourcing strategies and lead the negotiation of commercial terms and contracts with third-party suppliers and service providers.
- Identify and deliver savings on third-party spend through demand management, sourcing strategy, and contract renegotiation; track realized value.
- Oversee the purchase-to-pay cycle with the GBS center, keeping controls effective, compliant, and simple for the business.
Process excellence and team leadership
- Lead automation of finance and procurement routines and embed digital and AI tools into planning, analysis, and reporting.
- Lead, coach, and develop a small team (1–2 direct reports), setting priorities across the planning and close calendar.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, or a related field; MBA a plus.
- 5–7 years in strategic FP&A, business finance, or procurement at a multinational company, with ownership of full planning and forecasting cycles and a track record of delivering results.
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills; advanced Excel and experience with SAP, Power BI/Tableau, and AI tools applied to finance.
- Ability to influence without authority, think strategically, and communicate with executive audiences.
- Fluent English, written and spoken; professional Spanish required.
- Pharmaceutical, healthcare, or life sciences experience preferred; exposure to sourcing, supplier negotiation, or contract management and people-leadership experience are a plus.
