Business-Focused Accountant

Job Summary As an Allround Medior Finance Project Accountant, you will support clients in strengthening their financial administration and improving accounting processes. You will work on both day-to-day finance operations and project-based assignments such as system implementations, process optimizations, and regulatory compliance. This role is ideal for finance professionals looking to develop a career at the intersection of accounting and consulting. Key Responsibilities Assist clients with general ledger accounting, accounts payable/receivable, month-end and year-end closing activities. Support financial reporting (internal and external), including preparation of balance sheets, P&L statements, and cash flow overviews. Participate in the implementation and optimization of accounting systems (e.g., Exact, SAP, AFAS, Twinfield). Conduct reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial data and transactions. Identify opportunities to streamline and automate accounting processes. Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., Dutch GAAP, IFRS) and internal controls. Work on projects such as shared service center transitions, internal audit support, and financial data migrations. Collaborate with internal teams and client stakeholders, including finance managers and controllers. Support budgeting and forecasting processes where needed. Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Economics, or a related field. 1–4 years of experience in accounting, financial administration, or audit. Solid knowledge of core accounting principles and financial processes. Experience with accounting software (e.g., Exact, AFAS, Twinfield, SAP, Oracle). Strong Excel skills; experience with Power BI or other reporting tools is a plus. Analytical mindset and attention to detail. Good communication skills in English.
