Business Intelligence Developer

The Business Intelligence (BI) Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining reporting, analytics, and data solutions that support ALCOVA Mortgage’s business operations and decision-making processes. This role focuses on building scalable data models, dashboards, and reporting solutions, while ensuring data accuracy, governance, and accessibility. The BI Developer works closely with business stakeholders to translate data into actionable insights and supports the full lifecycle of data and analytics solutions. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain dashboards and reports using business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI) Develop and manage datasets, data models, and semantic layers to support consistent reporting 3. Write, optimize, and maintain SQL queries, views, and stored procedures Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines for data ingestion and transformation Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into reporting and analytics solutions Ensure data accuracy, quality, and consistency across reporting systems Develop and maintain documentation for data models, reports, and processes Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines and reporting solutions Implement and maintain data governance and best practices Work with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Azure) to support analytics solutions Assist in integrating data from internal and third-party systems Identify opportunities to improve data processes and reporting efficiency Provide support for production BI and analytics systems Additional duties as assigned Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Required Education, Experience, Licensure, and Competencies 2–5+ years of experience in BI, analytics, or data-focused roles Bachelor’s degree in a technical or quantitative field or equivalent experience Strong experience with Power BI and DAX or similar BI tools and languages 4. Strong SQL skills for data querying and transformation Experience with data modeling (dimensional modeling, semantic layers) Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines Experience with Microsoft Azure or similar cloud platforms Strong understanding of data quality, validation, and governance practices Experience working with structured deployment processes (e.g., CI/CD, Azure DevOps) Strong attention to detail and data accuracy Effective written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently in a remote environment Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Preferred Education, Experience, and Competencies Experience in the mortgage industry or with Encompass (strongly preferred) Experience with Python for data pipelines and automation Experience with machine learning concepts or tools (e.g., scikit-learn) Familiarity with modern data platforms (e.g., Microsoft Fabric, Snowflake, lakehouse architectures) Experience with data transformation tools (e.g., Power Query, Spark, PySpark) Experience implementing data governance and KPI frameworks Experience working with AI-assisted analytics tools and platforms Familiarity with vector databases, semantic search, or AI-driven analytics workflows Benefits Above market salary HMO on Day 1 for principal and two dependents Government-mandated benefits Performance-based Incentives Quarterly Company Events 1,000 PHP De Minimis Equipment and software provided
