Business Operations & Product Intern (Part-Time)

Amoeba Software is seeking a highly motivated Business Operations & Product Intern to help build and scale the intelligence that powers automated engineering design. This paid, part-time position is designed for someone eager to learn, exceptionally organized, and able to communicate clearly. No prior professional or company experience is required.

As a Business Operations & Product Intern, you will work cross-functionally with customers, engineering teams, component specialists, quality assurance, sales, and company leadership. You will help turn real-world customer feedback into clear follow-up actions, support day-to-day execution, and contribute to the evolution of a fast-moving AI-native platform. Across every potential career path, you will develop confidence scheduling meetings, anticipating team needs, and ensuring that Amoeba communicates and operates effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in customer meetings, listen carefully to feedback, and prepare clear meeting notes, follow-up messages, and action-item summaries.
  • Join sales calls and, when appropriate, attend industry conferences to meet customers in person; help capture requirements, coordinate inputs for quotations and proposals, and document follow-up actions under team guidance.
  • Monitor Jira tickets and workflows; track pending responses, follow up with assigned team members, and flag stalled or unresolved customer requests.
  • Support software quality assurance by executing tests under the guidance of QA team members, documenting issues, and verifying fixes.
  • Help create and maintain electrical component library parts under the supervision of Amoeba component specialists, following established procedures and quality standards.
  • Assist with customer service requests and draft customer responses under the guidance and review of component specialists, escalating questions when needed.
  • Keep project updates, customer feedback, task records, and internal documentation complete, accurate, and well organized.
  • Proactively schedule and coordinate internal and customer meetings, prepare agendas, anticipate information and follow-up needs, and help ensure clear, timely communication across Amoeba.
  • Coordinate with engineering, QA, component specialists, and leadership to help keep priorities and commitments on track.
  • Take ownership of assigned tasks, identify gaps before they become problems, and propose practical improvements that make a meaningful difference for customers and colleagues.

Required Qualifications

  • No previous employment or industry experience required; strong motivation, curiosity, and a willingness to learn are essential.
  • Impeccable organizational skills, exceptional attention to detail, and consistent follow-through on commitments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including active listening, concise summaries, and professional customer interactions.
  • A proactive, dependable, collaborative attitude and openness to coaching and constructive feedback.
  • Ability to manage multiple small tasks, track deadlines, ask clarifying questions, and work independently when appropriate.
  • Comfort with everyday digital tools and a willingness to learn Jira, software testing processes, and company-specific systems.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; however, not required. Interest in software, technology, or engineering is a plus.

Growth & Career Development

You will receive practical coaching and exposure to multiple functions. Over time, your interests, strengths, performance, and Amoeba’s needs may lead to greater responsibility in one or more of these paths:

  • QA Testing — Software QA testing, issue documentation, regression testing, and product quality.
  • Component Specialist — Electrical component research, data creation, review, and library quality.
  • Program Management — Project coordination, tracking deliverables, and improving team execution.
  • Customer Support — Customer communication, service-request coordination, and issue follow-through.
  • Sales — Participate in sales calls and customer conferences; develop skills in discovering requirements, coordinating quotations and proposals, and managing next steps.

Employment & Development Details

  • Direct, paid, part-time employment with Amoeba Software (W-2 for U.S. employees); this is not an independent contractor position. The role is hourly and nonexempt, with compensation set out in the written offer.
  • Anticipated schedule of approximately 15–20 hours per week, with availability for scheduled internal and customer meetings. Remote, U.S.-based work unless otherwise agreed; occasional conference travel may be offered when appropriate.
  • A structured initial 90-day development period will emphasize onboarding, communication and operational coordination, supervised QA and component work, and exploration of potential specialization. Performance and development goals will be reviewed around day 90.
  • The position is intended to support ongoing part-time work, subject to business needs and performance. Potential changes in responsibilities or hours may be discussed, but full-time employment or promotion is not guaranteed.
