Overview

Job Summary:

The Business Process Analyst is responsible for the maintenance and reconciliation of the PeopleSoft payroll, payroll tax and all dependent systems (re: Equifax, ESF, Master Tax and related vendors). Also liaise among business partners to elicit and document current state business processes, analyze and measure process performance, and design future state processes that optimize value.

Responsibilities include weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual & ad-hoc reporting, creating queries, and testing all new or changed functionality, administering all U.S. and Global system configurations.

Overall accountability includes understanding the table structure, customizations and logic based on business requirements to produce valid reporting and system functionality.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Partner with PeopleSoft end-users and IS to test and resolve production support issues.
  • Provide guidance, training and troubleshooting to all Opcos as needed.
  • Research, review, and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing processes, and develop strategies for improvement, or further leveraging the system for improved processes.
  • Document and maintain system procedures, user documentation, system updates, and maintenance, including tax updates.
  • Create standard and complex queries.
  • Maintain PeopleSoft foundation tables for multiple companies and Set ID’s including department, location, job and earnings codes, etc. for:
    • North American Payroll and Payroll Tax
    • EMEA Payroll
    • APAC Payroll-where needed
  • Act as liaison between IS, and end users for development, maintenance, and testing of processes and interfaces.
  • Partner with IS department super users, and project team members, utilizing both business process knowledge and Payroll system capabilities to interpret new and existing complex business issues and solve for necessary business requirements.
  • Partner with Finance Leadership in the year-end payroll process.
  • Create support documentation for enhancements and program changes.
  • Create test plans, execute testing on system changes, and communicate results to stakeholders and IS to ensure proper functionality is delivered.
  • Assist with the creation of training materials and procedures for new and updated processes.
  • Provide functional and system support regarding payroll and tax related issues for Canada, Global, Puerto Rico, and all OpCos.
  • Understand and act as a back-up for ACS weekly payroll processing.
  • Maintain awareness of current trends and laws in Payroll and Payroll Tax.
  • Work on special projects and other additional duties as assigned.
  • Prepare and execute annual/quarterly audits, but not limited to, the following items in conjunction with Global OPCO input and consensus:
    • Earnings Codes
    • Deduction Codes
    • Company/Department
    • Job Codes
    • Benefits Codes
    • Special Accumulators
    • Minimum Wage rates
    • Oasis tables
    • Commission Tiers
  • Create/Update annually all job aids for processes pertaining to any of these mentioned duties.
  • Independently work on projects with OpCos as well as IT to ensure that the payroll and tax tables are kept with integrity and be able to report back to the payroll manager/director to give updates and best practice suggestions regarding the upkeep and integrity of the tables.
  • Assume the SME role about PeopleSoft payroll tables and be available to attend meetings and /or projects involving those tables.
  • Cross train as back up for the Payroll Tax analyst
  • Develop and maintain strong relationship with business partners and internal/external team members.
  • Coordinates and provides support to the business with the process implementation.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience as a functional member with mid to large scale HR/Payroll technology projects for system upgrades, enhancements, and working with cross functional project teams.
  • Strong PeopleSoft query and reporting experience, and knowledge of core HR/Payroll tables
  • 4+ years of business analysis experience including the creation of functional requirements, testing, and implementation of technical solutions.
  • PeopleSoft version 9.0 or greater experience with an emphasis on Payroll administration.
  • Advanced MS Excel experience

Salary Range:
  • $81,400-$127,400
  • The position is bonus eligible

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

Office Requirements:

  • Required in office 4 days a week out of our headquarters in Hanover, MD or offices
