Business Rates Officer (Academy)

Job Description This is a remote position. As a Business Rates Officer, you will manage the financial assets of the Council, ensuring the accurate assessment and efficient recovery of due revenues. Your expertise in legislation, local authority protocols, and performance management will help in delivering a service that meets statutory requirements and improvement goals. You will utilise your communication and problem-solving skills to support the Council's commitment to equality and inclusivity while maintaining high customer service standards. Requirements Have experience working within a Local Authority Revenues service, with a strong focus on Business Rates Possess a sound understanding of Non-Domestic Rates legislation, recovery processes and relief schemes Can confidently interpret legislation and apply it to complex and often challenging cases Are self-motivated and capable of working from home with minimal supervision while delivering excellent results Must have experience using MRI (Capita/Academy) Benefits We believe employee benefits should go beyond just a free drink or fruit bowl.
