JOB SUMMARY
This job serves as a liaison between Highmark’s IT organization and business units. This role focuses on supporting collaboration, gathering requirements, and assisting with documentation to ensure IT solutions align with healthcare priorities. The role emphasizes learning, building trust, and developing foundational skills in business-IT alignment.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Work closely with business and IT stakeholders to convert strategic objectives into clear, measurable, and actionable requirements. Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, compliance standards, and organizational priorities.
Act as a liaison between IT and business units, fostering trust and alignment under the guidance of senior leadership. Encourage shared ownership of outcomes and reduce silos by promoting joint problem-solving.
Engage in structured discovery workshops to surface business goals, pain points, and opportunities. Document findings and highlight dependencies or risks that may impact solution design.
Assist with requirements gathering, documentation, and communication.
Foster open communication and collaborative problem-solving. Encourage dialogue across teams, and promote a culture of openness.
Provide status updates and assist with issue resolution. Deliver timely progress reports to stakeholders, highlighting achievements, risks, and mitigation strategies. Support issue resolution by escalating blockers and coordinating corrective actions.

EXPERIENCE
Required
3 years of progressive experience supporting collaboration between business and IT teams, preferably within healthcare systems, enterprise environments, or other regulated industries.
Preferred
3 years of demonstrated proficiency in project management methodology, with hands-on experience navigating complex enterprise IT ecosystems, including legacy systems, integrations, and infrastructure dependencies.
3 years of experienced in gathering requirements and documenting processes across complex enterprise IT environments, ensuring scalable solutions that align with organizational strategy.
3 years of written and verbal communication skills, with a proven track record of building trust, managing expectations, and aligning diverse stakeholder groups across technical and non-technical domains.
3 years with skilled in driving consensus and ensuring alignment between business objectives and IT capabilities to deliver measurable strategic outcomes.
SKILLS
Skilled communicator with the ability to simplify technical concepts for non-technical audiences across written, verbal, and visual formats (documentation skills).
Strong analytical thinker who translates business needs into effective IT solutions.
Experienced in managing stakeholders and negotiating priorities to build trust and alignment.
Influences cross-functional teams and drives consensus without formal authority.
Well-versed in healthcare industry trends, regulations, and operational challenges.
Understanding of project management tools and structured planning methodologies.
Thrives in both independent and team-based work environments, especially under tight deadlines.
Highly organized with sharp attention to detail and a commitment to quality deliverables.
EDUCATION
Required
High School/GED
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a closely related discipline is required or relevant experience and/or education as determined by the company in lieu of bachelor's degree.
Preferred
Master's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a closely related discipline is required.
