The pay range for this role is $25.28 - $29.74. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, and other candidate qualifications. This role supports our Bemidji, MN facility and follows a hybrid work arrangement. Candidates may be based at any of our Minnesota locations, including Bemidji, Milaca, Mankato, or Maple Grove. Key Responsibilities Coordinate as needed with Supply Chain leadership, Engineering and Operations to understand product or service requirements, materials needed, budget allowances, schedule, and other decision factors. Research, identify and evaluate potential vendors/suppliers as assigned. Confer with vendors/suppliers to quote, negotiate contracts and obtain product or service information such as price, availability and delivery schedule. Assist with analyzing quotations; negotiating prices and terms with vendors/suppliers; and recommending vendors/suppliers with respect to cost, quality, and delivery competitiveness. Review and place Purchase Orders (POs) or bid requests as directed. Initiate POs and amendments for parts, services, and/or specialized tools/parts; arrange for submission and inspection of sample tools/products as assigned; coordinate closely with Engineering to ensure timely execution of sourcing activities. Assist with maintaining and evaluating vendor/supplier performance data. Contact vendors/suppliers and work to address discrepancies with quantity, quality and deliveries. Interface with all departments, recommend changes and resolve problems and/or issues with material and purchasing needs. Coordinate as directed with manufacturing on schedule changes, priorities and issues, and contacts vendors/suppliers as necessary for order status or updates. Coordinate quality matters, engineering or manufacturing changes and/or other changes between the Company and vendors/suppliers as requested. Create and maintain material masters. Assist with managing inventory levels and turns. Participate in JIT/Kanban programs with suppliers as requested. Maintain and communicate forecasts to suppliers, study market prices and trends, and inform management as appropriate. Participate in supplier development projects and continuous improvement efforts. Demonstrate and support Nortech’s Mission, Core Values, policies and procedures at all times. May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. VISA sponsorship is not available for this position. Certain positions at Nortech require access to information, or technology that is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and other US government security regulations. Therefore, presently, all applicants must be US Citizens, or US Permanent Residents (“green card holders”), and/or otherwise comply with ITAR requirements for access rights, to be considered for a position. Qualifications Skills Behaviors : Motivations : Education Experience Required Required: Purchasing, buying, supply chain, or closely related knowledge and/or experience including: • Researching and sourcing manufacturing raw materials and assembly components. • Initiating and handling purchase orders and bid requests. • Analyzing pricing, contracts and other supply chain decision factors; identifying and recommending optimal solutions. • Handling negotiations and resolving issues using a diplomatic and effective manner. • Communicating effectively orally and in writing. Required: • Associates (A.A.) degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. • Experience using Microsoft Office, database, internet, supply chain, and related software applications. Preferred Preferred: • Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, supply chain, or related discipline. • One year of experience working as a Supply Chain professional as described above. • Experience working in a high-tech manufacturing environment involving electronic component, printed circuit board, and/or electro-mechanical assembly.
