Is this job info correct?

Leidos currently has an exciting opportunity for a Buyer to join our Shared Services Procurement organization. In this role, you’ll be part of a collaborative team that plays an important role in helping Leidos programs deliver solutions for some of our customers’ most critical missions. As a Buyer, you’ll manage a diverse portfolio of procurement activities supporting programs and internal customers across the company. You’ll work directly with suppliers and cross-functional teams to source materials, equipment, and services; evaluate supplier proposals; negotiate pricing and terms; and place and administer purchase orders. This is an excellent opportunity for a procurement professional who enjoys solving problems, building relationships, negotiating with suppliers, and taking ownership of their work. You’ll have the opportunity to expand your knowledge of government contracting and procurement while gaining exposure to a wide variety of programs, suppliers, technologies, and purchasing requirements. Ready to take the next step in your procurement career? Join Leidos and build your expertise through challenging assignments, collaboration, and opportunities to learn and grow while supporting missions that matter. 2. Primary Responsibilities As a Buyer, you will: Manage assigned procurement requirements from receipt through purchase order award, administration, and closeout, as applicable. Partner with program teams and internal customers to understand purchasing requirements, priorities, and delivery needs. Develop and issue Requests for Quote (RFQs) and other supplier solicitations. Identify and engage qualified suppliers and pursue competitive sourcing opportunities whenever practicable. Evaluate supplier quotations and proposals for price, delivery, terms and conditions, and other business considerations. Conduct price analysis and document fair and reasonable price determinations in accordance with established procedures. Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, terms and conditions, and other commercial considerations with suppliers. Prepare, issue, and administer purchase orders and modifications within delegated authority. Monitor supplier performance and delivery commitments and proactively address issues that could affect program schedules. Develop productive relationships with suppliers while serving as a trusted procurement partner to internal customers. Communicate procurement status, risks, and recommended solutions to program teams and other stakeholders. Identify procurement and supplier risks and collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop practical solutions. Maintain complete, accurate, and audit-ready procurement files and documentation. Ensure purchasing activities comply with Leidos policies and procedures, contractual requirements, and applicable government procurement regulations. Manage multiple purchasing actions and priorities in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment. Apply sound business judgment and procurement experience to independently resolve moderately complex purchasing issues. Collaborate with fellow procurement professionals and cross-functional partners to accomplish team and program objectives. Identify opportunities to improve procurement processes, supplier performance, cost, and customer experience. 3. Basic Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will have: Bachelor's degree with 2–4 years of prior relevant experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, contracts, or a related field; or a Master's degree with less than 2 years of prior relevant experience. Practical knowledge of purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or supplier management principles and practices. Experience soliciting, evaluating, and/or negotiating supplier quotations or proposals. Ability to analyze supplier pricing and other relevant information to support sound purchasing decisions. Ability to manage multiple assignments and competing priorities while meeting established deadlines. Demonstrated ability to work independently on moderately complex assignments and exercise sound business judgment. Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively work with suppliers, program personnel, management, and cross-functional teams. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to analyze procurement issues, identify potential risks, and develop practical solutions. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams. Ability and willingness to learn and effectively use procurement, purchasing, and enterprise resource planning systems. Ability to meet any U.S. Person requirements applicable to the position or programs supported. 4. Preferred Qualifications It would be great if you also have: Experience purchasing direct materials, equipment, components, or indirect goods and services. Procurement or supply chain experience within the government contracting, aerospace, defense, technology, or other regulated industry. Knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS). Experience working within a CPSR-compliant procurement environment. Experience conducting price analysis and documenting fair and reasonable pricing. Experience managing competitive and sole/single-source procurement actions. Experience negotiating supplier pricing, delivery schedules, and commercial terms and conditions. Familiarity with government contractor procurement documentation and audit requirements. Experience supporting multiple programs, projects, or internal customers simultaneously. Experience managing supplier performance and resolving delivery, quality, pricing, or contractual issues. Experience with enterprise procurement or ERP systems. Strong Microsoft Excel and analytical skills, including experience analyzing procurement, supplier, or spend data. A customer-focused approach and demonstrated ability to build effective relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers. An interest in continuous improvement and identifying ways to make procurement processes more efficient and effective. Why Leidos? At Leidos, procurement is more than placing purchase orders. Our Buyers help programs solve problems, manage supplier relationships, negotiate business solutions, and support the successful execution of important customer missions. You’ll work alongside experienced procurement professionals while building skills that can support continued growth within Procurement, Supply Chain, Subcontracts, and other areas of the organization. Bring your curiosity, business judgment, and drive to grow—we’ll provide the opportunity to put them to work. If you're looking for comfort, keep scrolling. At Leidos, we outthink, outbuild, and outpace the status quo — because the mission demands it. We're not hiring followers. We're recruiting the ones who disrupt, provoke, and refuse to fail. Step 10 is ancient history. We're already at step 30 — and moving faster than anyone else dares. Original Posting: September 9, 2026 For U.S. Positions: While subject to change based on business needs, Leidos reasonably anticipates that this job requisition will remain open for at least 3 days with an anticipated close date of no earlier than 3 days after the original posting date as listed above. Pay Range: Pay Range $52,000.00 - $94,000.00 The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
