CAD Technician

CAD Technician Job Description: - The role is to assist the team in the development and delivery of design deliverables for substation projects and also:- • Interpret drawings & designs. • Liaise with Project Managers/lead design engineers on amended drawings to ensure changes can be picked up easily • Produce and amend drawings using CAD • Create and maintain project management documentation to appropriate standards including: Design drawings, order sheets, fitting packs, Health & Safety requirements etc. • Providing feedback in internal meetings to keep the team informed • Offering general back up to the Projects Department • Keep drawing files and a custom project tracker programme up to date • Attending occasional site visits Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential. Experience with other CAD and 3D modelling software such as Revit essential. Preparing drawings for substation as required with design engineers. Reporting to CAD / lead engineer for discipline. BIM coordinator experience will be beneficial but not mandatory. Working under project timescales as required by Project manager . Personal Attributes: Excellent attention to detail and a keen eye for design. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal. Professional, reliable and willing to learn. Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. Your projects will include: HVAC substation primary and secondary design and HVDC Offshore Windfarm projects Your role will give you opportunities to: Perform work in accordance with the agreed budget and schedule with little supervision. Independently perform the tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works to standard and compliant regulations. Coordinate across project disciplines, external subcontractors and remote offices such that technical risks are identified and mitigated, and all statutory and regulatory requirements are met.
