At Heritage Holdings Group of Companies, we believe great construction starts with skilled people who take pride in their workmanship, look out for one another and are committed to getting the job done right.

We are looking for an experienced Carpenter / Mason who brings practical skills across both trades and takes pride in producing quality work.

This is a hands-on, physically demanding role working primarily outdoors on active construction sites. You will be involved in a variety of residential and commercial construction projects, from framing and formwork to blocklaying, concrete works and finishing.

If you are dependable, safety-conscious and enjoy seeing the results of your work, we would like to hear from you.

What You'll Be Doing

Carpentry & Formwork

  • Construct, install and repair wooden structures, including framing, formwork and cabinetry.
  • Measure, cut, shape and assemble materials accurately.
  • Complete carpentry work according to approved drawings and specifications.

Masonry & Concrete Works

  • Lay bricks and concrete blocks for walls and structural elements.
  • Construct and repair concrete and masonry structures.
  • Carry out masonry finishing and ensure completed work meets quality standards.

Construction & Site Support

  • Read and interpret drawings and project plans to determine layouts and material requirements.
  • Complete assigned tasks efficiently and within agreed timelines.
  • Inspect your work and correct defects before handover.
  • Work closely with the Site Foreman and other trades to support project delivery.

Tools, Safety & Quality

  • Operate carpentry and masonry hand and power tools safely.
  • Maintain tools and report defects or equipment issues.
  • Follow all site safety procedures and wear the required personal protective equipment.
  • Keep work areas clean, organised and free of hazards.

What We're Looking For

  • High school diploma or equivalent trade certification with at least three years' construction experience.
  • Proven practical experience in both carpentry and masonry on construction or maintenance projects.
  • Strong skills in framing, formwork, blocklaying, concrete works and masonry finishing.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and accurately measure and set out work.
  • Experience using carpentry and masonry hand and power tools.
  • Good understanding of construction safety procedures and the correct use of PPE.
  • Strong attention to detail, reliability, teamwork and the ability to follow instructions.
  • Physical ability to work outdoors, lift and carry materials, and perform demanding construction tasks.
  • A recognised trade certification in carpentry or masonry would be an advantage.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role means producing quality workmanship that meets approved drawings and specifications, completing tasks on schedule and maintaining a safe work environment.

You will be someone who takes care of tools and materials, identifies problems early and works cooperatively with others to keep projects moving.
