About the Role
We are seeking a Category Manager to lead strategic sourcing, contract management, and supplier relationship activities within a healthcare environment. This individual will oversee the full contract lifecycle and partner with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure compliance, mitigate risk, and support organizational objectives through effective procurement and supplier management practices.
This is an excellent opportunity for a contract management or procurement professional looking to move beyond transactional purchasing and into a strategic role that directly influences sourcing decisions, supplier performance, and operational outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, redline, negotiate, execute, and maintain contracts for supplies and purchased services.
- Ensure all agreements comply with organizational, regulatory, and legal requirements.
- Lead sourcing and procurement initiatives, including supplier evaluations, pricing negotiations, contract renewals, and competitive bid processes.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Coordinate contract reviews and approvals with Legal, Finance, Information Systems, Privacy, Supply Chain, and other business partners.
- Track and manage contracts through Workday Strategic Sourcing and other contract management systems.
- Maintain accurate contract documentation and repository records.
- Provide timely status updates and reporting regarding sourcing, negotiations, and contract activities.
- Support value analysis initiatives, supplier diversity efforts, and process improvement projects.
- Assist with additional Supply Chain initiatives and departmental priorities as needed.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of healthcare supply chain, procurement, strategic sourcing, or contract management experience.
- Experience negotiating pricing agreements, managing supplier relationships, and leading bid/RFP processes.
- Proven contract management experience, including drafting, reviewing, redlining, and negotiating contract terms and conditions.
- Experience ensuring compliance with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and legal standards.
- Strong project management and contract administration skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Experience utilizing contract management platforms such as Workday Strategic Sourcing or similar systems.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with Legal, Finance, IT, Supply Chain, and leadership teams.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting healthcare organizations, health systems, hospitals, or other regulated environments.
- Familiarity with value analysis methodologies and supplier performance evaluation.
- Experience supporting supplier diversity initiatives.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while managing competing priorities.
Work Environment
This is a fully remote position within a fast-paced and collaborative healthcare setting. The successful candidate will regularly engage with internal stakeholders and suppliers while managing multiple contracts and sourcing initiatives. Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills are essential for success.

Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Nashville, TN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $94993.00/yr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
$45.67 per hour Company Benefits will be shared with recruiters if requested.
