Through detailed review of clinical documentation and supporting information, the CDI Consultant evaluates the clinical validity of reported diagnoses and procedures, identifies documentation gaps, and develops concise, compliant physician queries. The consultant collaborates with Enjoin physicians to review potential DRG recommendations and query opportunities before submitting findings to clients, and prepares clear, evidence-based rationales supported by ICD-10 Official Coding Guidelines and AHA Coding Clinic guidance.

As part of the Advisory team, this fully remote role requires strong clinical judgment, analytical skills, and communication, along with the ability to manage engagement deadlines, maintain accurate workpapers, and meet established quality and productivity expectations.

  • Write clear audit rationales supported by ICD-10-CM/PCS Official Coding Guidelines and AHA Coding Clinic guidance.

  • Follow AHIMA/ACDIS query compliance guidance and stay current on coding updates, reimbursement trends, and client requirements.

  • Use client reports, workflow systems, and encoder tools to complete reviews and document findings accurately.

  • Meet engagement deadlines and maintain a minimum productivity standard of three chart reviews per hour.

  • Maintain complete, timely engagement workpapers and contribute ideas to improve quality, workflows, and productivity.
