About this role

Fractional support of financial, treasury, and economic-system functions of the newly-formed Foundation during its early build-out phase. Advise and support on the implementation and maintenance of institutional-grade controls, reporting, and compliance while advising on the setup of sustainable operations for a crypto-native, multi-asset treasury across on-chain and off-chain environments. Protect and extend financial runway. Design, model, and execute token-economic strategies consistent with protocol-level objectives. Scope for role to develop into a full time position as the Foundation becomes more established.

What you’ll do

Scope of Fractional Engagement (P00s Focus)

• Advise on establishment and implementation of core policies, frameworks and governance for key financial and treasury matters.

• Advise on establishment and implementation of frameworks for executive-level sign-off, design authority, and oversight on systems, controls, reporting, and risk management.

• Ensure audit-readiness and regulatory-compliant posture without full-time operational ownership.

• Advise on establishment and implementation of multi-wallet, multi-signature, and MPC custody structures. Establish systems to maintain hardened treasury procedures for transfers, approvals, and incident response.

• Advise on:

  • the development of token-economic policies: issuance controls, vesting frameworks, incentive-spend programs, circulating-supply management, liquidity-support mechanisms, and long-term sustainability modelling.

  • management of capital-markets activities: staking, yield strategies, diversification programmes, liquidity provisioning, and structured treasury actions.

• Support the implement transparent, real-time reporting standards for community-facing treasury dashboards and board-level oversight.

• Support and guide internal finance staff, outsourced accounting providers, custodians, and treasury operators.

• Advise on establishment and implementation of disaster-recovery controls for treasury access, key management, and operational continuity.

• Lead strategic decisioning on treasury structure, runway, risk, and token economics, with execution delegated to operational teams.

Requirements

• 7+ years senior finance leadership (CFO, VP Finance, Head of Treasury) within regulated or audit-heavy environments.

• Proven command of IFRS/GAAP, financial reporting, audit preparation, and internal control frameworks.

• Direct experience running institutional-scale balance sheets, cash-flow planning, and treasury risk management.

• Demonstrated execution of treasury strategy in crypto-native environments: on-chain portfolio management, staking/yield, market structure, exchange operations, liquidity programmes, and custody architectures.

• Deep understanding of token economics, including issuance mechanics, emissions modelling, incentive design, token-supply governance, treasury-spend optimisation, and long-term sustainability modelling.

• Experience interacting with regulators and maintaining compliant processes in multi-jurisdictional structures (foundations, non-profits, limited companies, or DAOs with wrappers).

• Advanced literacy in on-chain analytics, treasury dashboards, and blockchain data tooling.

• Strong familiarity with smart-contract systems, multi-sig operations, MPC custody, operational-security standards, and key-management governance.

• Experience working with decentralised governance, ecosystem-grant programmes, and protocol-level financial decisioning.

Preferred

• Experience managing treasury portfolios >USD 100m equivalent.

• Prior leadership within a major L1/L2, DeFi protocol, or crypto foundation.

• Involvement in token-economics design processes at scale.

• Familiarity with protocol-level revenue models, MEV dynamics, bridging risks, on-chain liquidity systems, and DAO/validator economics.
