About the Job The Chapter Lead combines hands-on delivery leadership — as an experienced Tech Lead — with people leadership for the chapter. They strengthen engineering practices and drive strategic enablers such as AI and DevOps (examples that may evolve over time), while growing their people through coaching, development, and succession planning, and building communities that elevate the way teams work. What you do Act as an experienced Tech Lead within a squad, owning delivery outcomes hands-on. Champion key strategic enablers aligned with the Commercial vertical’s priorities (e.g., AI, DevOps), guiding teams — together with tribe and product leaders — on embedding them into delivery practices and ways of working. Drive communities of practice that promote continuous learning and cross-team collaboration, standardizing and sharing best practices, design patterns, and tools. Lead end-to-end people leadership for the chapter: hiring and onboarding, ongoing feedback and coaching, and promotion/succession readiness. Cultivate a high-performing, inclusive chapter culture that supports engagement, retention, and professional growth. Coordinate with tribe, product, and other chapter leads on capability mapping, ensuring the chapter's talent supply matches current and future delivery needs. What you bring At least 8 years of professional experience in software development; hands-on coding today is not required, but prior hands-on experience is. Bachelor's or Master's degree in an IT-related field, or equivalent practical experience. Solid software engineering fundamentals, from architecture and systems design to quality and delivery practices. Solid experience to AI-assisted software development. People management experience — coaching, performance management, and succession planning. Ability to operate effectively across variable time allocation between people leadership and delivery work, depending on chapter size and project load. Financials or product ownership or service management experience is a plus.
