About givestar
givestar is building the next generation of charitable giving. Our platform is designed to make fundraising more social, engaging and rewarding for the people raising money, the charities they support, and the events that bring them together.
While many of the world's established fundraising platforms were built more than two decades ago, givestar was created around how people use technology today: mobile-first, connected and community-driven.
And we're well beyond the idea stage.
givestar has already helped raise around $70m for charity, built a community of approximately 750,000 users, and works with major charities and fundraising events. With around 10,000 new users joining each week, the foundations are in place for the next stage of growth.
Following a $12m Series A, we're now moving from startup to scale-up. We're investing across our leadership, product, engineering and commercial teams, while accelerating our expansion into the US.
About the role
We're looking for a Charity Account Manager to look after our US nonprofit partners once they move across from Sales.
You'll own a portfolio of charity accounts from activation and adoption through to retention, early renewals and growth. You'll get to know each partner, what they're trying to achieve and how their fundraising is performing, then help them get the most from givestar.
You'll be the main day-to-day contact for your accounts, helping partners improve their fundraising while keeping on top of account health, upcoming renewals and opportunities to grow the relationship.
Location: Austin, Texas
This role will initially be remote. As we continue to build our US team, we plan to establish a workspace in Austin and move towards a flexible hybrid working model. We're therefore looking for candidates who are based in the Austin area.
What you'll be doing
Own live charity partners
- Take ownership of a portfolio of charity partners as they move from Sales into activation.
- Be the main day-to-day contact through onboarding, kickoff, activation, adoption, growth and early renewal planning.
- Get to know each partner's organisation, priorities and fundraising goals.
- Build strong relationships and become someone partners can turn to for advice and support.
- Help new partners get up and running quickly and start getting value from givestar.
Drive fundraising outcomes
- Understand each partner's fundraising objectives, programmes, opportunities and challenges.
- Help partners build and improve peer-to-peer, endurance, event and other fundraising programmes using givestar.
- Use fundraising and account data to understand what's working, what isn't and where things could improve.
- Look at areas such as registrations, fundraiser activation, participation, average raised per fundraiser, conversion and overall performance.
- Use what you're seeing to give partners practical recommendations that can improve their fundraising.
Commercial account management
- Build account plans around each partner's goals, fundraising performance and opportunities with givestar.
- Keep on top of account health, retention, forecasts and upcoming renewals.
- Spot renewal risks early and work with the partner and wider team to address them.
- Identify opportunities to grow accounts where there's a clear benefit for the partner.
- Close straightforward upgrades and work with Sales on larger renewals and more complex opportunities.
- Take responsibility for retaining and growing revenue across your portfolio.
- Keep account plans, forecasts and reporting accurate and up to date.
Cross-team and playbook
- Work closely with Event Partnerships to help charities get the most from givestar-powered endurance and event programmes.
- Share partner feedback and product ideas with the wider team.
- Help develop how we manage charity accounts in the US, including processes, benchmarks, reporting and best practices.
- Keep CRM data accurate so everyone has a clear view of partner activity, performance and opportunities.
- Share what's working and what you're learning as our US nonprofit business grows.
What we're looking for
- Experience in account management, customer success, partnerships, fundraising or another commercially focused client role.
- A track record of managing, retaining and growing a portfolio of customer or nonprofit relationships.
- Strong relationship-building skills and confidence working with senior stakeholders.
- Good commercial judgement and an understanding of how customer outcomes and account growth fit together.
- Confidence working with data and turning performance information into useful recommendations.
- Strong organisation, follow-through and attention to detail.
- Experience using CRM systems and working with forecasts, account plans and performance reporting.
- Comfort working remotely and independently across US and UK time zones.
- Comfort working in a fast-moving environment where some processes are still being built.
- Confidence using AI-powered productivity and account-management tools.
- Authorisation to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
It would be great if you also have:
- Experience in US nonprofit fundraising.
- Experience with peer-to-peer fundraising platforms or programmes.
- Experience with endurance, event or challenge-based fundraising.
- Experience managing relationships with large national nonprofit organisations.
- Experience analysing and benchmarking fundraising performance.
- Responsibility for renewal and retention across a meaningful revenue portfolio.
- Experience in SaaS, fundraising technology or other technology-enabled services.
- Experience working in an early-stage, high-growth or rapidly changing organisation.
Why givestar?
givestar is at a really interesting point in its growth. There's already a product in market, a large and growing community using it, and plenty still to build.
For our Charity Account Manager, that means joining as we're growing our US nonprofit business and developing how we support charity partners after they come on board. You'll have the opportunity to build strong relationships, help charities get more from their fundraising and contribute to how we develop Account Management in the US.
If you're looking for an account management role where you can build long-term relationships, help charities achieve better fundraising outcomes and grow with a developing US team, we'd love to hear from you.
