Charity fundraiser

Role Description The Charity Fundraiser is a full-time remote role responsible for developing and executing fundraising strategies that support Wendi Foundation’s programs and mission. Day-to-day tasks include researching potential donors, cultivating relationships with individuals, corporations, and institutions, and preparing persuasive proposals and appeals. The role involves organizing virtual fundraising campaigns and events, managing donor communications, and maintaining accurate records of contributions and donor interactions. The Charity Fundraiser will collaborate with program and communications teams to align fundraising messages with organizational priorities and ensure that donor stewardship is thoughtful, timely, and transparent. This role also includes monitoring fundraising performance, reporting outcomes, and recommending improvements to strengthen long-term funding sustainability.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in fundraising, development, or resource mobilization for non-profit or mission-driven organizations.
• Strong skills in donor research, prospecting, and relationship-building across diverse stakeholder groups.
• Ability to craft clear, compelling written content for grant proposals, fundraising campaigns, and donor communications.
• Experience planning and coordinating online fundraising events, campaigns, or crowdfunding initiatives.
• Competence in using CRM or donor management tools, spreadsheets, and basic data analysis to track and report fundraising activities.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with cultural sensitivity and respect for diverse backgrounds.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with capacity to work independently in a remote setting and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of or interest in community development, education, youth empowerment, or nation-building initiatives in Uganda or similar contexts.
• Bachelor’s degree in Non-Profit Management, Development Studies, Communications, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
