Chief Accountant

On behalf of our client, a well-established international industrial company, we are looking for an experienced Chief Accountant to lead the accounting and tax activities in Greece.

The role is based in Corinth and offers a hybrid working model.

The Role

The Chief Accountant will be responsible for the company’s accounting and tax activities, ensuring compliance with IFRS and Greek GAAP, accurate financial reporting, tax compliance, internal controls, and effective cooperation with external auditors and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the company’s accounting and tax activities, ensuring compliance with IFRS and Greek GAAP
• Prepare and review monthly and annual financial reporting and statutory financial statements
• Manage tax compliance, including VAT, income tax, payroll taxes and myDATA reconciliations
• Coordinate with external auditors for statutory, Group and tax audits
• Oversee cash flow, accounts receivable, fixed assets and CAPEX reporting
• Ensure the effective implementation of internal financial controls and accounting policies
• Support and lead ad hoc accounting and tax projects as required

Candidate Profile

• 8–10+ years of relevant experience in Accounting & Tax, ideally in a similar position
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field
• Strong knowledge of IFRS
• SAP experience
• A’ Class signatory rights (Άδεια Λογιστή Α’ Τάξης)
• Strong knowledge of Greek tax legislation
• Excellent command of English
• Experience in a multinational environment will be considered an advantage
