About Carrington Talent Group:

We are proud to be managing this search on behalf of Girls Leadership and look forward to engaging with you throughout the process.

About Girls Leadership
Girls grow up hearing the message that their voice is too much, their leadership is presumptuous, and their power should be managed rather than celebrated.

As a nonprofit, Girls Leadership equips adults who shape girls' daily lives — teachers, coaches, counselors, family service providers — with the training and tools to build environments where girls learn to use their voice, trust their power, and lead.

We believe girls are born powerful. Our job is to make sure the adults around them know how to nurture that power instead of dampening it. Every program we design, every partnership we build, and every piece of research we conduct is co-created with the most marginalized girls, because a world that works for them works for every girl.

Girls Leadership is unique in three ways:
  • We work through the influential adults in girls' lives, multiplying our impact across classrooms, teams, and communities.
  • We put social and emotional learning (SEL) at the foundation of everything we teach.
  • We co-design with the most marginalized girls first, so our work serves all girls more effectively.

The Opportunity
Girls Leadership's Board of Directors is seeking its next Chief Executive Officer to lead and propel a $2 million national organization into its next chapter of growth and impact.

We're looking for a visionary, inclusive leader who can be a highly visible, dynamic fundraiser and champion for girls and gender-expansive youth — someone with an informed point of view on the issues facing them, the skill and relationships to move the field, and the operational discipline to build a financially sustainable organization for the long term. This CEO will be responsible for elevating the funding for the organization; position the organization as the national leader in girls' social-emotional development; and deepen and expand Girls Leadership's reach with educators, sports coaches, and youth-serving organizations.

Reporting to the Board, the CEO will lead a talented, values-driven and fully remote team dedicated to the well-being of girls and gender-expansive youth everywhere.

This is a rare opportunity to lead an organization at a genuine inflection point — one with a strong reputation for trusted and high-impact trainings, a distinctive model backed by data, and real room to grow its national influence on behalf of girls who are too often told to shrink. With the support and leadership of a dedicated Board of directors, the next CEO won't just manage an organization; they'll help decide what it means, at scale, for a generation of girls to grow up believing their power is worth building rather than managing.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Organizational Effectiveness
  • In partnership with the Board, establish a multi-year strategy and operating model that positions Girls Leadership for its next phase of growth and impact.

  • Support the Board in fulfilling its fiduciary and strategic responsibilities by providing timely, accurate updates on organizational performance, financial health and emerging risks as needed.
