Chief Release Engineer (Mobile - iOS, Android & Backend)

We are looking for a Chief Release Engineer (Mobile - iOS, Android & Backend) to lead predictable, high-quality releases across iOS, Android, and backend services. You will connect Product and Engineering, orchestrating CI/CD-driven build, test, and deployment workflows with clear stakeholder communication.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage the release calendar across iOS, Android, and backend platforms
• Coordinate release scope with Product Managers, Engineering Leads, QA, and Ops teams
• Align priorities, timelines, and dependencies across teams
• Facilitate release readiness reviews and go/no-go decisions
• Oversee end-to-end release execution, including build, testing, and deployment phases
• Coordinate mobile app submissions to the App Store and Google Play
• Manage backend release deployments, ensuring compatibility with mobile versions
• Ensure versioning, tagging, and branching strategies are followed consistently
• Execute and coordinate production releases for mobile applications and supporting backend services
• Own production feature flag management, including planning, enabling, disabling, validating, and monitoring feature flags throughout the release lifecycle
• Support production incidents related to deployments, feature flags, and release activities, coordinating with engineering teams to restore service where required
• Ensure deployment checklists and release runbooks are followed, and support production rollbacks when required

Requirements

• Proven track record with 7+ years of experience managing mobile application release lifecycles across iOS and Android platforms
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with proactive stakeholder management
• Hands-on experience with mobile CI/CD pipelines and release automation
• Strong proficiency with Git, GitHub, GitHub Actions and/or CircleCI
• Working knowledge of Kubernetes fundamentals
• Practical experience with feature flag management in production environments
• Demonstrated ability in cross-functional release coordination across Product, Engineering, and QA teams
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher
