Better Payment Network (BPN), Incubated through Binance Yzilabs, is a next-generation stablecoin settlement network designed to power cross-border payments in emerging markets.

BPN connects local fiat rails, stablecoins, OTC desks, centralized exchanges (CEX), and decentralized liquidity (DEX) to enable efficient currency conversion and settlement for merchants operating across Africa, Latin America, and Asia.

Our mission is to build the liquidity infrastructure behind global stablecoin payments.

Role Overview

BPN is building a stablecoin-native cross-border financial network connecting financial institutions, payment companies and local payment rails across emerging markets.

As BPN scales, the core technology challenge is no longer simply processing payments. It is orchestrating how money moves across institutions, currencies and markets — safely, efficiently and in real time.

We are looking for a CTO who has built and operated financial infrastructure at scale, understands how payment, FX, treasury and settlement systems work in the real world, and has led strong engineering teams through multiple stages of growth.

This is a hands-on leadership role. We are looking for someone who has built, shipped, scaled and operated, not only designed architecture.

Key Responsibilities

1. Build BPN’s network infrastructure

Turn BPN’s operating model into scalable technology across:

• multi-currency accounts and ledger
• payment routing and orchestration
• FX execution and liquidity routing
• treasury and cross-market fund allocation
• clearing and settlement
• reconciliation
• prefunding and liquidity management
• risk / AML information exchange across network participants
• stablecoin and blockchain settlement infrastructure

The goal is to make increasingly complex movement of money programmable, observable and controllable at network level.

2. Build the treasury & settlement engine

Work closely with the CEO and CFO to encode the rules governing how liquidity moves across BPN.

As BPN combines B2B flows with complementary retail and institutional flows, the platform should be able to:

Match → Net → Route → Settle → Rebalance across currencies, markets and financial institutions.

Technology should ultimately allow BPN to minimize external FX execution, reduce prefunding requirements and improve capital efficiency as network density increases.

3. Own reliability and financial controls

Build institutional-grade controls around every movement of money:

ledger integrity → reconciliation → settlement finality → exception handling → risk controls → auditability

The CTO owns not only whether the system is available, but whether every dollar can be accounted for throughout its lifecycle.

4. Build and lead the engineering organization

Recruit and develop a high-calibre engineering team across core payments, ledger, treasury, blockchain and platform infrastructure.

Establish architecture, engineering standards and ownership structures that allow BPN to scale from today’s network into significantly larger transaction volumes without scaling operational complexity proportionally.

Who We’re Looking For

• The ideal candidate has 10+ years building financial technology, with meaningful engineering leadership experience.
• Most importantly, we value breadth across the movement of money. Strong candidates will have worked across several parts of the financial stack:
• Acquiring / Payment Processing → Wallets & Accounts → Issuing → FX & Treasury → Banking / SWIFT → Clearing & Settlement
• Experience building payments across emerging markets — particularly LATAM, Southeast Asia, Africa or Greater China — is highly valuable.
• Experience with stablecoins or blockchain is useful, but not mandatory. We would rather hire someone who deeply understands how money moves through the traditional financial system and can rethink that architecture using stablecoins than someone whose experience is exclusively crypto-native.

• You understand what happens from the moment a customer pays, through acquiring, ledgering, FX, treasury and settlement, until funds arrive in the beneficiary’s bank account.
• You have also experienced the operational failures, reconciliation breaks, liquidity constraints and edge cases that appear when these systems operate at scale.
