The Opportunity

At Alera Group, our Property & Casualty team partners with businesses to identify risks, protect assets, and deliver insurance solutions that support long-term success. As a Claims & Risk Management Support Leader, you will be responsible for the processes and operations related to the servicing of clients and their claims, and supervising two team members.

Responsibilities

  • Contact with clients, carriers & internal customers on a regular basis to serve as advocate, liaison, mediator and resource
  • Coordinate with client/insured to assist with coverage issues
  • Participate in presentations with clients and prospects as requested
  • Lead and streamline claims, risk management, and client resource support operations to deliver a consistently high level of client service
  • Supervise and mentor specialty team members while promoting collaboration, accountability, and professional growth
  • Drive proactive service initiatives that deliver value and strengthen client relationships
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to improve workflows, operational efficiency, and service consistency
  • Support hiring, onboarding, training, and ongoing development of team members
  • Conduct performance evaluations, provide coaching, and create development plans to enhance team effectiveness
  • Lead team meetings, establish goals, and develop action plans that support departmental objectives
  • Monitor adherence to established procedures, conduct operational reviews, and implement process improvements as needed

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience
  • 2+ years of insurance, risk management, customer service, operations, or leadership experience
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
  • Ability to organize priorities, manage multiple responsibilities, and meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and internet-based applications
  • Knowledge of insurance terminology, coverages, policy forms, and client service practices
  • State-specific insurance license or ability to obtain and maintain required licensure

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in an insurance agency or brokerage environment
  • Experience leading client service, claims, risk management, or operational support teams
  • Familiarity with Applied Epic or other agency management systems
  • Experience developing operational processes, workflows, and training programs
  • Professional insurance designations or advanced industry training

This position is Hybrid

Travel Requirements: Occasional travel may be required to support office implementations, training, and collaboration with project teams.
