Class A CDL Driver – Heavy Haul / Lowboy CrewLink – Nationwide Travel Position Summary CrewLink is seeking a professional, safety-focused Class A CDL Driver to transport our fleet of transit buses to project sites throughout the United States. The buses are transported using a company-owned semi-tractor and lowboy trailer. The ideal candidate will have experience hauling oversized vehicles, buses, heavy equipment, or similar loads. This position requires nationwide travel, strong attention to safety, excellent equipment-care habits, and the ability to represent CrewLink professionally at jobsites and customer locations. Compensation Hourly Rate: $36.00–$42.00 per hour, depending on experience Paid travel time Overtime pay in accordance with applicable laws Company-paid lodging for approved overnight travel $30 per overnight per diem Essential Responsibilities Safely operate a Class A tractor and lowboy trailer. Transport transit buses and related equipment to project sites throughout the United States. Safely load, secure, transport, and unload transit buses. Inspect all load-securing devices before and during transportation. Perform required pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections. Maintain accurate electronic logs, inspection reports, fuel receipts, permits, and other required documentation. Comply with all DOT, FMCSA, state, federal, and CrewLink safety requirements. Coordinate with CrewLink Operations and Project Management regarding transportation schedules and delivery requirements. Maintain the assigned tractor and trailer in a clean, safe, and professional condition. Promptly report mechanical concerns, safety issues, accidents, damage, or delivery delays. Represent CrewLink professionally when interacting with customers, contractors, vendors, and project personnel. Assist with other transportation and fleet-related responsibilities as needed. Required Qualifications Valid Class A Commercial Driver License. Minimum of five years of verifiable Class A driving experience. Experience operating lowboy, detachable gooseneck, step-deck, or heavy-haul trailers. Experience loading and securing buses, vehicles, construction equipment, or oversized loads. Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) that meets CrewLink and company insurance requirements. Ability to successfully complete all required background checks, drug testing, and DOT qualification requirements. Strong knowledge of cargo securement, Hours of Service rules, and DOT regulations. Ability and willingness to travel nationwide and remain away from home overnight as business needs require. Ability to safely navigate jobsites, staging areas, construction zones, and customer facilities. Strong communication, time-management, and organizational skills. Dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work independently. Preferred Qualifications Previous heavy-haul or specialized transportation experience. Experience transporting transit buses, motorcoaches, trucks, or heavy equipment. Experience operating removable-gooseneck or hydraulic lowboy trailers. Experience obtaining or working with oversize-load permits and route restrictions. TWIC card. OSHA 10 certification. Basic mechanical knowledge. Physical Requirements Ability to climb into and out of the tractor and onto the trailer safely. Ability to lift, carry, pull, and secure equipment weighing up to 75 pounds. Ability to bend, kneel, climb, reach, and work around vehicles and trailers. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and jobsite conditions. Ability to remain seated and operate a commercial vehicle for extended periods in compliance with Hours of Service regulations.
